Parker Schnabel Reveals the biggest gold nugget he has found.

Parker Schnabel is a well-known gold miner who rose to fame as the cast of  Discovery‘s reality show thrill ride, “Gold Rush.” He is the series’ prominent cast member since its beginning in 2010.

Schnabel made his first appearance on the show while doing his high school. The gold-mining boy has gained the spotlight from one of the unique mining outfits that have never been seen on Discovery.

He, alongside his team, has made a tendency to set each season of the show as stated via Discovery’s YouTube account.

Parker Schnabel once discovered a single nugget worth Over $400

At a very young age, Parker Schnabel’s mining career started while working at his grandfather John Schnabel’s Big Nugget Mine situated in Haines, Alaska. His family’s gold mining business was also covered on the reality show “Gold Rush.”

At 16, Schnabel took over his grandpa’s firm, and later on, he started his own mining business. As per the 2016 report of the Diggings,  Parker’s initial investment paid off after he and his colleagues found 34 ounces of gold, valued at $55,000.

The 28-year-old miner has had many fortunate moments out in the fields. During a Facebook Live session in 2017 (by looper.com), he shared that the largest nugget he ever discovered was a quarter ounce (worth $400-$500), which is incredibly uncommon.

As per Schnabel, he and his team didn’t find many big nuggets up in Dawson; it wasn’t that sizable.  When it comes to the largest one, Parker shared that his team found some might be a quarter ounce.

Answering the FACEBOOK Q&A audience, he further added that although that doesn’t sound like a great deal; however, a nugget even of that size has a value of $400 to $500.

It’s important to keep in mind that this Q&A is from 2017, and the value of gold has significantly increased in the years thereafter. As a result, that nugget may be worth quite a bit more at present.

Schnabel supported his statement that even quarter-ounce nuggets are unusual where he’s placed up, saying that “for every one thousand ounces, you could discover two” in the quarter-ounce scale.

Further, he remarked that the enormous nuggets were uncovered more frequently at his grandpa John’s old site.

“Back at Haines, back at Big Nugget we would find plenty of large nuggets,” Parker recalled, “My grandfather would find 3 to 4 ounces nuggets back in the day.”

The gold discovering game is not just about quantity, but it is also about quality. Although Schnabel isn’t collecting enormous nuggets from the ground as his grandfather did, he’s still doing a good job for himself.
