When the gold rush first started, the show was focused on his grandfather John. John is known for running a business operation named “Big Nugget Mine.” John is undoubtedly a legendary miner who has had huge success in the gold mining industry, and the fact that he mined 50 ounces of gold in one day with several large nuggets is proof. 

John is known to be a wise, calm, and very experienced miner; this is the reason why everyone who watches Goldrush or knows him is a huge fan of Grandpa Schnabel. On the other hand, when John handed over his business to his young grandson, Parker, he had a rough start where many doubted his capacity to continue his grandfather’s legacy.

People Labeled Parker as a Bad Boss

After the second season, John handed over the business to Parker, who at the time was very young. He was known for having a bad temper and was criticized for being a bad boss who failed to run the operation successfully.

Young. Parker was also deemed unfit to be a leader by many who watched the show. But not everyone shared the same opinion; most fans were still supporting. There’s a whole Reddit section where people debated and shared their opinion about Parker’s competence as a boss.

Some fans weren’t happy with the way he treated Rick Ness

Rick Ness had been by Parker’s side ever since Parker recruited him. At times, people noticed fans noticed Parker not appreciating Rick’s work and the effort he puts in as a team member. One fan said, 

I’m surprised that Rick keeps eating those shit sandwiches that Parker feeds him. I really don’t know how he convinces himself to stick it out with this mining operation. The guy has been mining year after year and knows what he’s doing. He had to shut the washplant down during the day because the frozen ‘pay’ was clogging up the washplant. So he shut down and was probably thinking about how they’d tackle this issue when once again, the spoiled brat shows up and tells him being shut down due to frozen pay ‘is not good enough’, yet he didn’t offer any suggestions on how to fix the situation. What a spoiled little bitch he is. He is not leadership material. I hope he pisses everyone off all at the same time with one of his temper tantrums that they all walk off the job and go home for good, never to return. That would royally screw the little shithead over, but even if that really happened, he wouldn’t take responsibility for the situation he put himself in.

Another person joined the conversation in favor of Rick and said

I agree, my issue is that I believe rick is the glue that keeps that crew together. Parker seems to have a good crew right now but if rick leaves I think most others would leave as well. Rick has that bubbly attitude that people are drawn too

While some other people had different opinions, one gold rush fan supported Parker, saying;

I can completely understand not liking Parker. I never did originally but now I love him and his crew. He definitely shows his young side when he lashes out like that. But he’s become a millionaire running his mine for the last few years. I think his crew knows thats part of who he is, and it’s worth it to put up with a few temper tantrums to make good money in their passion. I think he’s a good decision maker overall and the crew seems to get along pretty well

Now People noticed Parker growing as a Man and a leader.

Although in the past, fans of the gold rush were divided into supporting and complaining about Parker’s way of running the operation; things have now changed for the young mining boss.

In a recent Instagram post by Parker, people have been showing their support and expressing how they have seen Parker grow up as a successful businessman over the years.

At the age of 27, Parker is successfully running an 8 Figure business and aims to soon mine 100 million worth of Gold, which speaks itself in his favor. Also, as a tv star, he has won the heart of millions of people and continue to do so.
