MARTY RANEY

Marty Raney, born in 1957, is currently 66 years old. Despite his upbringing in North Bend, Washington, Marty chose a life of adventure and wilderness, even dropping out of school at the age of 18. His outdoor journey began in the logging camps of Southeast Alaska in 1974, and he initially lived in a floating logging camp on Prince of Wales Island. Later, he and his family settled on a remote homestead in Haines, AK, surrounded by Alaskan brown bears.

MISTY RANEY

Misty Raney, born on November 9, 1979, in Sitka, Alaska, is the third child of Marty Raney and Mollee Roestel. She spent her formative years in Alaska, where she developed a passion for art and craft, particularly carpeting. Under the guidance of her father and siblings, Misty acquired the skills needed to build and maintain a homestead. She is married to Maciah, a carpenter and surfer, and they have a five-year-old son. They work together in the family business during the Alaskan summer and spend their winters in Hawaii enjoying surfing.

MATT RANEY

Matt Raney, the fourth child of Marty and Mollee Raney, was born in July 1982 in Alaska. At 41 years old, he resides in Wasilla, Alaska, and is of Caucasian descent. Matt is recognized as the family’s hunting expert. When he’s not assisting his father in building the family business, he’s hunting to keep their freezers stocked with meat and teaching others the art of subsistence hunting. Matt and his family have embraced a subsistence lifestyle, filling their freezers with salmon, halibut, caribou, doll sheep, and moose, relying on their own hunting and gathering for sustenance and avoiding fast food and store-bought meat.
