Chip and Joanna Gaines, the dynamic duo known for their expertise in home renovations, have ventured beyond their traditional projects. Alongside their fervor for transforming homes, the couple has embraced a shared passion for roller skating. This enthusiasm has led them to embark on their newest endeavor for Magnolia Network – a captivating roller dancing competition slated to debut on Max in the early months of 2024.

Diverging from their customary interests in interior design, the latest show might appear as a departure for the Waco couple, Chip and Joanna. However, Joanna’s recent affinity for roller skating, ignited by the gift of a pair of skates for Christmas in 2021, has illuminated a new dimension to their passions.

In the wake of completing filming for Magnolia Table, Joanna shared a vibrant Instagram video. In this playful footage, set to the upbeat tune of Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now,” she showcased her roller skating prowess on the show’s set, a testament to her newfound joy in the activity.

Variety initially unveiled an undisclosed show that the couple is bringing to life. This exciting venture will revolve around a family-oriented competition featuring the foremost roller-skating crews in the United States. While additional particulars are slated for release in the forthcoming months, the network has affirmed that roller skating teams hailing from Houston, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Nashville, New York, and St. Louis are set to participate.

Chip and Joanna Gaines have endeavored to captivate diverse audiences and evoke nostalgia with what seems to be a pioneering competition. They remarked, “Donning a pair of roller skates feels like reconnecting with one’s youth. There’s an inexplicable allure that resonates with everyone.” This sentiment was shared in a statement provided to Variety.

Their roller skating series signifies a milestone as their premier show tailored exclusively for Max, formerly known as HBO Max. While their earlier productions, such as “Fixer Upper: The Castle” and “Silos Baking Competition,” were part of Magnolia’s portfolio available on Max, this marks their debut original project for the platform.

This announcement arrives on the heels of the Gaineses inaugurating new Magnolia headquarters in downtown Waco earlier this spring.
