Otto Kilcher was born on April 19, 1952, to his parents Ruth and Yule Kilcher. He was born in their home in Alaska and was the youngest son of the couple.

Otto grew up with his seven siblings and learned to live in the wilderness of Alaska.

Who is Otto?

Otto Kilcher has appeared in the reality TV show “Alaska: The Last Frontier” since its premiere in 2011. The show follows the Kilcher family as they survive in the harsh climate of Alaska and live off of hunting and gathering.

Otto, his brother Atz and their family live on their 640 acres of property and live without the influence of modern technology. Otto is also a self-taught mechanic and repairs broken equipment on his estate.

Along with his passion for repairing, Otto is also a good cattle herder and has been doing it since he was a child. Otto had two children with his second wife, Sharon Mckemie, but later divorced her too due to differences in personal opinions.

Otto is married to Charlotte Kilcher and the couple has two children. The four children of Otto have appeared on the show “Alaska: The Last Frontier”.

Otto Kilcher’s accident

Otto Kilcher is 70 years old as of 2022. He has been working as a mechanic and farmer on his homestead since he was a child.

Otto and his family have worked hard to survive in the wild and harsh climate of Alaska. In 2016, Otto was at health risk because of a blood clot.

The family doctor had warned him to take rest. In addition to that in 2017, Otto had to go through a hernia surgery and was on bed rest for a few months.

These complications in his health incited his death rumor. However, Otto is healthy and set to come back on the 11th season of his show “Alaska: The Last Frontier”.

Otto Kilcher rose to fame after the reality show “Alaska: The Last Frontier” aired in 2011. He is the mechanic and farmer of his home estate in Alaska.

Otto has lived in Alaska his whole life. His whole family is part of the show. While he is not working as a mechanic, Otto herds the cattle and farms on his land.

The Kilcher family produces their own vegetables. Otto is often seen fishing and gathering wild berries from wild Alaska.
