Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent’s relationship initially started with friendship. Before they met, Nate had already made a name for himself as the host of his own TV series, The Nate Berkus Show.

On the other hand, Jeremiah worked as an interior designer on the popular TV series The Oprah Winfrey Show.

Then in 2012, Jeremiah left his former employer to explore his chances in the fashion industry, working for the famous American fashion designer Rachel Zoe.

It was then he first met his current partner Nate. Reportedly, the pair got to know each other via one of their mutual friends.

For both Nate and Jeremiah, their first-ever date was a very special one. It initially started as a friend hang which later turned romantic.

In an interview with People in February 2022, Jeremiah talked about how everything changed right after their first date.

They decided to just hang out for a day and go antiquing and furniture shopping. However, as the day came to an end, they both realized they were meant to be together.

“I was sitting in a brown leather chair, and we were just talking. And I remember thinking to myself, oh God, what is this? This is not what I thought it was. There was something about him that, in his presence, I just felt so safe.”

Moved in Together in New York in 2012

Nate and Jeremiah carried on the spark they felt on their first date. They continued to hang out and spent more time together. Moreover, Jeremiah moved in with Nate in his house in New York after a while.

After less than a year of dating, Nate proposed to Jeremiah while vacationing with their friends at Machu Picchu, Peru. Thus, the pair engaged in April 2013.

Engaged for just over a year, the designer couple decided to make their relationship official. They rang their wedding bells at a public library in New York on 3 May 2014. Reportedly, the pair wrote their wedding vows, which they read during the ceremony.

Welcomed Their First Child in 2015

Less than a year into marriage, Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent expanded their family to three. They welcomed their first child, daughter Poppy, on 23 March 2015. As of August 2022, Poppy is seven years old.

Nate recently shared a beautiful picture of his daughter on his official Instagram handle @nateberkus on 4 August 2022. He captioned the photo, “Iconic? Without a doubt.”

Welcomed Their Second Child in 2018

Nate and Jeremiah became parents to their second child, son Oskar Michael Brent-Berkus on 26 March 2018. The youngest member of the Brent-Berkus family is currently four years old.

He regularly features on his parents’ social media. Lately, i.e., on 15 August 2022, Nate uploaded his son Oskar’s photo on Instagram. The caption on the picture indicates that the baby boy loves Portugal.

Both Poppy and Oskar took birth via surrogacy, one of the artificial birth methods.
