Good Bones’ Karen E. Laine Pledges to Wear the Same Dress for 100 Days: ‘I’m 30 Days In’

Karen E. Laine, known for her role on Good Bones, has embarked on a bold fashion journey. The HGTV star committed to wearing a single dress for 100 consecutive days.

Sharing her progress with followers on Instagram, she revealed her motivation stemmed from a challenge by @wool.and that piqued her interest. In a post on February 25, she proudly announced being 30 days into the challenge without repeating the outfit.
At 61, Karen has unleashed her creativity in styling the blue dress, experimenting with an array of accessories.

“I’ve layered an apron over it for messy tasks and added leggings underneath for chilly days,”

she shared. Embracing activities like hiking, painting, and landscaping, typically reserved for more casual attire, she’s discovered a new versatility in her wardrobe.

Karen’s also noticed a significant reduction in laundry chores, and while she anticipates eventual repeats, she’s relishing the opportunity to maximize her scarf collection and playful tights.

For her, the essence lies in accomplishing more with fewer items, a philosophy that deeply resonates.

The comments poured in, offering a mix of admiration and curiosity about Karen’s decision to commit to wearing a single garment for 100 days straight.

“Wow, you’re taking on a challenge too! Just remember to give that dress a wash every now and then. But honestly, you look fantastic no matter what you wear,” one follower joked, mixing praise with a touch of humor.

Karen quickly clarified, “The challenge doesn’t mean skipping washing the dress.”

Meanwhile, another curious follower queried, “But why?” Karen replied simply, “To minimize consumption: fewer clothes, less water, and fewer detergents.”

One curious commenter expressed their interest, saying, “I’m intrigued. So, it’s really just one dress and not multiples of the same size/style, right? Do you wait until you have enough accessories for a laundry load, or do you wash it every evening to avoid 100 consecutive days without cleaning?”

Karen confirmed, “Yes, it’s one dress. I wait until I have enough for a load, or I hand wash it as needed (about once a week).”

Since bidding farewell to Good Bones in October 2023, the home improvement expert has been deeply involved in renovating her new home in Wilmington, North Carolina.

While there’s been no official announcement of a spinoff show for Karen, she hinted at her return to television in the near future.

A devoted fan inquired about potential new projects in a recent Instagram comment, to which Karen tantalizingly replied, “The magic 8 ball says the outlook is good,” accompanied by a playful winky face emoji.
