Fixer to Fabulous stars were sued over unlicensed and unpermitted work
In the lead-up to their hit HGTV home renovation show Fixer to Fabulous, Dave, and Jenny Marrs were already operating Marrs Developing, a busy contracting entity. This likely indicated they were quite familiar with the demands of renovating homes in and around the Bentonville, Arkansas, area, but as one couple learned the hard way, it wasn’t foolproof.
Dana and Tyler Craddock claim they were slapped with fraudulent problems after Marrs Developing and Marrs Contracting enlisted them to come on Fixer to Fabulous to have their Northwest Arkansas home overhauled in 2018, and it seems the series production and the Marrs companies had seemingly ignored Arkansas law by starting work on the property without securing the required licenses and construction permits.
As renovation progressed in the home, the Craddocks learned of several unauthorized changes–and when it came time for the final inspection, they discovered that their residence did not meet safety codes. This is largely because no official inspector had been called in to check if all work had been done safely and in conformity with law. As a result, the Craddocks found themselves bearing the consequences of a renovation lacking proper oversight and attention to legal requirements.
Having exhorted the Marrs companies with their complaints, the Craddocks embarked on a two-year wait in the hope that things might change. But as time passed with no improvement at all in sight, they launched legal proceedings against HGTV’s stars in 2021–seeking damages for at least seventy-five thousand bucks. With the Marrs couple no stranger to drama either, and their new spin-off show set to launch, audiences are eagerly waiting for future challenges. How do followers of the two get along with any further difficulties that may arise, they wonder.
