Who is Nate Berkus?

Nate Berkus is a celebrity who achieved fame from his design career. Berkus came into this world on the seventeenth of September in the year 1971.

He is a California native, specifically in Orange County. At a young age, Nate was already on track to become a great designer because of his mother, Nancy Golden, who is a tv personality for HGTV.

He went to Paris to study as an intern at Dominique Orientis. In 2005, he became the host of Oprah’s Big Give.

Although Nate has a successful life now, he once experienced a tragic event that shaped his life. In 2004, Nate went on a vacation in Sri Lanka with his then-lover, Fernando Bengoechea.

Fernando was an up-and-coming photographer. During their vacation, a huge tsunami hit the Indian Ocean coastal area.

It is said that the tragic disaster recorded more than two hundred thousand deaths. At the time of the tsunami, Nate and Fernando were holding hands together.

But after a while, the two got separated due to the strong currents. Unfortunately, Fernando did not survive. Nate went on to live and tell the story to the world of how great his lover was on the Oprah show in 2005.

After the tragic incident involving his partner, it took years for Nate to finally move on. The incident happened in 2004, and after ten years, Nate married again.

In 2013, the interior designer got engaged with Jeremiah Brent. Jeremiah is also an appreciated interior designer.

He is the founder of the Jeremiah Brent Design company. Brent was an alumnus of. After college, Brent went on to work as a designer.

Slowly, he built up his name and brand and eventually became an actor. In 2008, he was part of the film The Ode, which he also produced.

After a year of being engaged, Nate and Jeremiah tied the knot in 2014. Their relationship was celebrated by many, and they were the first ever same-sex couple to be featured in different high fashion magazines.

The lovely couple also got featured on Architectural Digest’s cover alongside their beautiful daughter named Poppy. Their biggest project together was the 2017 design tv show Nate & Jeremiah by Design.
