Keith Bynum and Evan Thomas Reveals, They No Longer want to get married.

“Bargain Block” stands out as one of the most popular HGTV shows centered around home improvement.

Helmed by Keith Bynum and Evan Thomas, who are both business partners and engaged, the series garnered an impressive viewership of over 20 million during its inaugural season. Presently, the dynamic duo is poised for further ventures.

The essence of “Bargain Block” revolves around revitalizing numerous abandoned homes on a single Detroit block, preparing them for first-time homebuyers through extensive renovations and creative styling. Evan Thomas succinctly encapsulated the show’s premise, stating, “Bargain Block is all about us taking multiple homes on a single block in Detroit and they’re all abandoned homes. We renovate them, style them up and make them perfect for first-time home buyers.”

Keith Bynum shared his amazement at the show’s success, saying,

“It is really crazy to think about. We were at Pride and you see like a million people at once and that is really overwhelming. The fact that 20 times that have seen our show is kind of overwhelming,”

reflecting on the significant impact “Bargain Block” has achieved with its audience thus far.

The celebrities have maintained a high level of transparency regarding their romantic relationship and the challenges they’ve encountered within the construction and home renovation sector.

“In our company, our constant endeavor is to embrace inclusivity,” remarked Evan Thomas. He went on to highlight Keith’s extensive background in the construction field and shed light on the unfortunate reality of encountering homophobia and limited professional prospects for individuals like themselves.

Evan added,

“Keith has personally navigated a lot of discrimination within the construction industry, and we’ve seen how it has resulted in limited employment opportunities for people like us.”

“It just really stuck with me how I was treated in the construction field in different parts of the world.” Bynum added.

“Detroit never one time has had any kind of issue. We’ve always felt very welcomed and very at home there. We just don’t give up. I don’t ever let anybody dictate how I’m going to live my life. I don’t think that that’s something anybody should do.”

Approaching a decade of togetherness and nearing five years since their engagement, the pair remains content with their current status and doesn’t have immediate intentions to formalize their union through marriage.

“I’m going to have to do it before we can’t…that’s terrifying. We are really, really swamped. I don’t want it to be an afterthought. I want to have the time to put it together like we want. I don’t want it to be big or crazy, but I want it to be memorable and special. At this point in Texas, it’s common law after seven years, so technically we’re married if we go by the South rules,”

said Bynum.

Keith Bynam Reveals David Bromstad inspires him

Bynum expressed his awareness of the significant strides made in the LGBTQ+ community, citing advancements like marriage equality and increased representation in the entertainment industry. He has previously shared his awe at meeting openly gay HGTV stars such as Jonathan Knight from “Farmhouse Fixer” and David Bromstad from “My Lottery Dream House.”

In a HGTV Pride Month video from 2022, Bynum conveyed to Bromstad how profoundly his presence on the network had impacted him. “Coming from the South, being gay isn’t always easy,” he confessed to Bromstad. “So, seeing representation on HGTV… it made me realize that achieving my dreams was possible. I could be on HGTV just like David! So, thank you for that because it truly changed my life.”
