Jasmine Roth reveals going through “Constant Pain”. Here’s what happened.

One year following her neck herniation, HGTV personality Jasmine Roth continues to grapple with persistent pain. On October 29, 2023, Roth, typically known for her cheery demeanor on “Help! I Wrecked My House,” opened up on Instagram about the challenging journey she’s undertaken to recover.

In her candid Instagram post, the 39-year-old Roth revealed that it has been a full year since her neck injury occurred during a routine visit to her family on the East Coast. As she, her mother, and her two-year-old daughter, Hazel, made the cross-country journey from California to visit her grandfather in New Jersey, Roth couldn’t ignore the feeling that something was amiss.

Despite undergoing a wide array of treatments, the renovation expert continues to grapple with days when her pain becomes incapacitating. During these challenging times, she relies on the unwavering support of her family and team to carry her through. As she prepares for the fourth season of her show, scheduled to premiere on November 8, Jasmine Roth made the courageous decision to open up about her ongoing struggle. She stressed that her intention in sharing her story was not to seek sympathy but to offer solace and encouragement to those who, like her, are dealing with the daily burdens of chronic pain, so that they may find comfort in the knowledge that they are not alone in their journey.

Jasmine Roth Wants to Remind Fans ‘It’s Ok to Not Be Ok’

Prompted by the physical strain of transporting her daughter Hazel through two airports and navigating the ins and outs of air travel, Jasmine Roth recounted in her post that the persistent neck pain she experienced last year refused to subside, even after attempts at stretching and rest.

She wrote, “Upon returning home to California and consulting my orthopedic doctor, it became evident that something was significantly awry. I wouldn’t wish a herniated disc, in my case C5/C6, upon anyone. It has since become a journey marked by a series of MRI scans, therapeutic injections, an abundance of physical therapy, and the challenge of finding rest (perhaps the most demanding aspect 🤦), all while coping with unrelenting pain.”

According to information from the Deuk Spine Institute in Florida, the C5 and C6 vertebrae of the spine bear the brunt of the weight from the neck and head, earning them the moniker of “stress vertebrae.” The most common symptom associated with such herniations, it explains, is an intermittent sharp pain or a constant throbbing ache in the back of the neck. This condition can impede range of motion and often lead to headaches.

In her Instagram post, Roth went on to express, “Fortunately, I managed to avoid surgery, and I’m steadily regaining strength. Nevertheless, I’m still a long way from being able to do all the things I desire. This has been a journey marked by frustration, acceptance, and a valuable lesson about taking my health for granted.”

She continued, “I’m sharing this not to elicit sympathy (I recognize that many people are enduring far more severe circumstances around the world 🙏🏼) but for those who are grappling with pain and injuries. I see you. You’re not alone, and I’m sending positive energy for your well-being, along with an extra dose of strength to put on a smile. My hope for you is to find renewed health, and when you do, to recognize how much you truly deserve it.”

Jasmine Roth, who recently celebrated her 10th wedding anniversary with her husband Brett Roth, included a separate paragraph at the end of her post to remind her readers that “it’s okay not to be okay.”

“I don’t often discuss this injury in detail here,” she remarked, “but facing the demands of everyday work, motherhood, and life, all while enduring pain, is an uphill battle. My family and friends have stepped up to support me. My work teams have rallied around me. My doctors have been there for me. I am deeply grateful, but it remains an arduous journey. 💛”

Jasmine Roth Has Shared Details Before About Her Chronic Pain

Jasmine Roth first unveiled her private battle in March 2023, divulging on Instagram that she was contending with a herniated disc that had disrupted her daily life. She described the challenges she faced, such as the struggle to find a comfortable sleeping position, difficulties laughing, turning her head while driving, and even carrying her young toddler.

She wrote, “I absolutely wasn’t anticipating anything like this as I entered 2023, and not being at full capacity has been incredibly frustrating. However, it has also heightened my gratitude for the health and strength I do possess. I’m finally beginning to feel like I’m turning a corner, though.”

Just two days later, she excitedly shared that her doctors had granted her clearance to go snowboarding with her family, with the caveat of taking it slow.

Nonetheless, come June, Jasmine Roth posted a photo of herself in a medical gown, her expression clearly showing frustration, as she disclosed that her herniated disc had once again sidelined her. She conveyed the seriousness of her condition, emphasizing the relentless pain that had taken a toll on her that week.

Roth expressed her heartfelt appreciation for her family’s continuous support, as they repeatedly stepped up to enable her to rest and recover during this challenging period. She also extended her gratitude to the dedicated individuals on her HGTV team who had been picking up the slack throughout the week and diligently tending to her needs, even following her around with cold ice packs.

Despite enduring chronic pain throughout the year, Roth demonstrated remarkable resilience. She managed to relocate her family to a winter residence in Salt Lake City, adapted her schedule to conduct virtual design sessions with clients, and participated in HGTV’s “Barbie Dreamhouse Challenge.”
