Before he started working at the Villalobos Rescue Center, he was doing multiple jobs to earn money. In 2008, when he was chased by police officers for carrying an illegal firearm, he got into an accident and was arrested.

After that, he was charged with a felony of evading a police officer and possession of an illegal firearm. He served ten months of prison time and was later released on parole.

Following the incident, the forty-two years old parolees started working at the rescue center. He also starred in the show “Pitbulls and Parolees” in 2009 and became known for his help with the recused animals.

He was a prominent figure in the rescue center and successfully relocated Villalobos Rescue Center to New Orleans, Louisiana, from Califonia.

Jake Gardner learned the ways of a rescue center and left the show and Villalobos Rescue Center in 2012 to establish his own rescue center. Currently, he resides in North Carolina, with his family.

He had acquired knowledge of a smooth-running animal rescue center from Tia Maria Torres so he made up his mind of leaving the show and starting his own rescue center. He left the show “Pitbulls and Parolees” in 2012.

Following his departure from the show, he founded “The Fort-Fortitudine Vincimus Rescue Center” in Asheboro, North Carolina. His rescue center focuses on providing a warm place and family for the rescued dogs and other animals.

His rescue center started by rescuing American Pitbull Terriers. This breed of dog is often misjudged and considered to be aggressive and dangerous.

The forty-two years old animal rescue activist has previously worked with Pitbulls and wolfdogs in the Villalobos Rescue Center and knew that with proper training and nurture, Pitbulls have an affectionate and friendly personality.

His rescue center also boasts about its no-kill non-discriminatory rescue process and hopes to minimize the pain and suffering of abandoned animals, especially Pitbulls Terrier.

Tia Maria Torres, his previous employer, and her family attended the wedding ceremony. Karin Roth Gardner is a Rodan + Fields independent consultant and helps her husband manage the rescue center in her free time.

He currently lives in Raleigh, North Carolina, with his wife Karin Roth Gardner and his rescued American Pitbull Terriers.
