On Friday, Chip and Joanna Gaines offered their fans an exclusive sneak peek of their latest project. The dynamic duo has been diligently working on the transformation of a century-old structure in their beloved hometown of Waco, Texas, into a charming boutique hotel aptly named “Hotel 1928.”

This collaborative endeavour was brought to life in partnership with Adventurous Journeys Capital Partners, as revealed in a press release from Magnolia, which was shared with Insider.

Chip and Joanna made a show about the hotel renovation

To chronicle the extensive renovation endeavour, Chip and Joanna Gaines embarked on a captivating new series for their Magnolia Network titled “Fixer Upper: The Hotel.” This show provides viewers with an inside look into their journey of transforming the historic structure into the charming boutique hotel, “Hotel 1928.”

The forthcoming limited series is set to comprise six half-hour episodes and is scheduled to make its debut on November 8. Viewers can catch the show on multiple platforms, including Magnolia Network, MAX, and Discovery+, as confirmed in an official press release from Magnolia.

This expansive property spans an impressive 50,000 square feet, encompassing three floors in total. Within this magnificent space, there are 33 distinct rooms, each offering its unique charm and character.

Furthermore, the hotel features a generously sized library and a versatile event space, adding to the overall allure of the establishment.

As detailed on the hotel’s website, Hotel 1928 offers an assortment of four distinctive room styles, with pricing varying depending on your intended visit dates. As of Friday, the most affordable rate observed for a room was $405 per night.

Situated in the heart of downtown Waco, Hotel 1928 offers an array of enticing amenities. According to its website, the hotel boasts not only comfortable accommodations but also three distinct dining venues. These include a rooftop restaurant aptly named Berties, a bar and restaurant known as The Brasserie, and a cozy café, allowing guests to savour various culinary delights during their stay.

In the trailer, Chip described the renovation as”the largest and most complex project we’ve ever undertaken in our entire careers.”

Chip and Joanna have been adding properties to Waco, Texas, for years.

The latest endeavor by Chip and Joanna will further enhance their already remarkable presence in Waco, a journey they embarked on even before the HGTV sensation “Fixer Upper” made its debut.
The hotel enjoys a convenient location within easy walking distance of the couple’s Silos shopping centre. This bustling hub is home to beloved tourist attractions such as Magnolia Market and Magnolia Home.
Additionally, it’s just a short drive away from some of the Gaineses’ other notable establishments, including Magnolia Table, their original store, the Little Shop on Bosque, and the enchanting castle they meticulously renovated in town a property that also received the spotlight in one of Magnolia’s TV shows.

In July, the Gaineses organized an auction for the castle, following a period during which they generously permitted fans to explore and tour the property for a limited duration.

The Gaineses have also put Magnolia House, a two-home property they transformed into a bed and breakfast in 2015, up for sale. The house was initially listed for $995,000, and there is currently a pending sale in progress, as indicated on its listing.

It’s worth noting that the couple initially acquired the property for a mere $190,000, a fact they revealed during their time on “Fixer Upper.”

However, the Gaineses have opted to retain ownership of Hillcrest Estate, a charming five-bedroom residence located in Waco. They continue to make this property available for rent to guests through Airbnb.

“Fixer Upper: The Hotel” is scheduled to be broadcast on Magnolia Network on November 8th at 9 p.m. ET.
