Daphne Reckert and Ian Figueira closed out the second season of Castle Impossible with one of their most personal renovation reveals yet.

During the July 14 season finale, the HGTV couple—affectionately known as “The Figs”—announced that they are expecting a baby boy. The emotional moment unfolded outside their centuries-old French château, surrounded by several of the people who have supported them throughout their ambitious restoration journey.

The series follows Daphne and Ian as they work to transform the approximately 500-year-old property that Daphne inherited from her grandfather. While much of Season 2 focused on construction challenges, new living spaces and the couple’s growing business, their expanding family became an important part of the story.

Daphne and Ian first shared their pregnancy news earlier in the season, surprising their contractor, Tony, and Daphne’s grandmother. Both were thrilled by the announcement, with Daphne’s grandmother looking forward to welcoming the newest generation of the family to the château.

The finale took place roughly seven weeks before Daphne’s expected delivery date. Despite the approaching arrival of their first child, the couple remained busy completing work around the property. They focused on preparing a new home in the Hunter’s Lodge, while Ian also created a peaceful relaxation area for Daphne inside the Dove Tower.

After presenting their latest renovations, Daphne and Ian gathered outside with Tony, Daphne’s grandmother and longtime family friend Jean-Marie. The couple then announced that they were finally ready to reveal whether they were having a son or daughter.

Moments later, the château was illuminated in blue, confirming that a baby boy would soon be joining the family. Ian sweetly addressed their unborn child as the dramatic lighting transformed the historic home into the setting for an unforgettable family celebration.

Viewers quickly flooded social media with congratulations. Many fans referred to the baby as the château’s future “prince,” while others urged HGTV to renew the show so audiences could watch the couple adjust to parenthood. Several viewers also expressed hope that the child will inherit Ian’s playful personality and Daphne’s warmth.

Daphne previously confirmed that she was seven months pregnant and laughed off online rumors suggesting she was expecting twins. She made it clear that only one baby was on the way.

The couple has acknowledged that balancing parenthood, renovations and their wedding-venue business will require teamwork. Although they planned to spend the first few weeks concentrating on their newborn, friends and relatives were also expected to visit and provide support.

Daphne and Ian have not yet publicly confirmed whether their son has arrived. For now, Season 2 has ended with the château glowing blue—and a brand-new chapter for The Figs about to begin.
