Alaskan Bush People is an American reality TV series that follows the Brown family and their life in the wilderness of Alaska. The show premiered on May 6, 2014, on Discovery Channel, and has recently released its fourteenth season on October 2, 2022.
Billy Brown and Ami Brown moved to Alaska in 1982 after they realized that they didn’t want to be confined to a nine-to-five job.
After living in the wilderness for more than fifteen years, in 2017, the Brown family moved to Washington after Ami Brown was diagnosed with stage-III lung cancer.
After her health was restored by getting chemotherapy, the Browns have been living in Beverly Hills, California, since then.

The Brown family consists of nine members in which Billy and Ami are parents to their seven children. The family was founded after Billy and Ami got married to each other on June 16, 1979, in Tarrant County, Texas.
The family moved to the Copper River Valley, Alaska, from Texas in 1982. Initially, when they relocated to Alaska, they had a hard time acclimating to the harsh climate of wild nature.
Billy Brown released a self-biography book, “The Lost Years” in 2009, where he outlined his life in Texas and Alaska.
This book got him on the notice of one of the producers of the series “Alaskan Bush People,” and he was approached to star in the series.
The show depicts the daily life of people who live in the Alaskan bush and their struggle to survive in raw weather.
In 2014, when the show aired, Billy Brown was sixty-one years old, and Ami Brown was fifty-one years old.
The couple has four sons, Matt Brown, Joshua Brown, Bear Brown, Gabe Brown, and Noah Brown.
The four brothers also have two younger sisters, Snowbird Brown and Rain Brown.
The Brown family has lived in Browntown, Alaska, for more than ten years and documented their lives in the wilderness for eight years.

When Ami Brown was diagnosed with lung cancer, the whole Brown family moved to Washington.
During this time, the reality TV series “Alaskan Bush People” was filmed in the area around their home in Washington.
Ami received the treatment accordingly and was healthy and active after a few years.
But when the leader of their family, Billy Brown, passed away at the age of sixty-eight years old, the Brown family was devastated and lost.
The patriarch of the family was advised to move from the cold climate of his home to a warm place, but he refused to do so.
On February 7, 2021, he suffered from a seizure and died on the spot.
After his death, the family returned to TV in the new season of the series.
In its fourteenth season, the children and Ami were having a hard time adjusting to their new routine without Billy.
Currently, the family lives in Tonasket, Washington.

The Brown family lived on their private land in the Browntown of Copper River Valley.
When Ami Brown was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2017, they sold their property in Alaska and moved to Washington for her treatment.
The family decided to settle in Washington and bought a 400-acre farmhouse in Okanogan County, Washington. The eighth season of the show “Alaskan Bush People” was filmed on their property.
