The renowned conservationist from Australia, Bindi Irwin, reveals her endometriosis journey on International Women’s day.  She talked about how she underwent numerous surgeries after going through pain and fatigue for ten years.

Bindi Irwin is not just known for being a conservationist but is also an actress and TV personality. So as she shared about her surgery, her well-wishers were concerned about her health.

Bindi Irwin Underwent Surgery for Endometriosis After Suffering for a Decade.

The TV personality Bindi, known for hosting the TV program “Bindi the Jungle Girl” when she was just nine years old, recently revealed her endometriosis diagnosis and the suffering she had to go through. The 24-year-old actress wrote about her journey on Instagram on International Women’s Day.

She started sharing her journey to help other women with the same disease. She mentioned that she struggled with “insurmountable fatigue, pain & nausea” for more than ten years but said that the doctors could not correctly diagnose her disease even after numerous tests and scans.

Bindi stated that she gave up on treating her disease and started living with the pain after a doctor said it was something a woman had to live with forever. However, she underwent surgery which removed 37 lesions, some of which were tough to remove.

As we browsed to find some information regarding Endometriosis, we came to run through the Mayo Clinic’s definition of the disease. According to the website, the disorder occurs when tissue similar to the uterine lining grows out of the uterus.

It can be grown in ovaries, fallopian tubes, and pelvic lining.  Moreover, the disease is not easily diagnosed by tests and scans.

According to research, every 1 in 10 American women must wait 8.6 years on average to be appropriately diagnosed with Endometriosis. Likewise, the same research also showed that most women got misdiagnosed with mental health-related problems or some other physical problems.

Bindi shared Endometriosis Can be Treated with Surgery

While there is a misconception about Endometriosis not being cured, the Endometriosis Foundation of America states that the disease can be cured through numerous surgeries by removing lesions.  Moreover, the patients can also be treated with oral medicines, and proper diet and physical exercise can lessen the symptoms.

The TV personality gave a shoutout to her friend Leslie Mosier who influenced her to regain her life. Bindi did not specifically mention how she decided to undergo surgery, but she just said that she took the step as her pain and suffering were unbearable, and she did not want to continue living like that her entire life.

She wrote, “Every part of my life was getting torn apart because of the pain.” As she shares her decade-long experience of pain and fatigue due to Endometriosis, she hopes she can help other women going through similar pain in life and wants them to keep searching for answers behind those symptoms.

Irwin wants to keep every message from the fans aside and feel grateful for her daughter and beautiful family.
