HGTV star Erin Napier has made it clear that she’s not planning to have more children, but the “Home Town” host’s family expanded by two this week.
The designer and New York Times bestselling author delighted her fans when she posted a picture on Instagram on October 19, introducing her new family dogs.
In the caption of the post, Napier wrote,
“Finn and Annie. They’re new here. 👋🏻 Thank you [River Town Retrievers].” She also added the hashtag “#huntingschooldropouts.”
In the photo that Napier shared on social media, Finn and Annie, two black labs, are seen lounging on the grass. They gaze directly into the camera with their tongues playfully sticking out of their mouths.
Fans Are Instantly in Love With Erin Napier’s New Dogs
Fans enthusiastically gathered in Napier’s comment section to express their affection for the newly introduced dogs. Many were curious to learn more about these adorable additions to her family.
“They’re so cute! Are they litter mates? We just adopted brothers, and it has been so fun seeing them grow and play together,”one user inquired.
In response, Napier explained, “They are! they were supposed to be duck dogs and have been through all the training, but they don’t like water. so they were gifted to us! ❤️”
Another fan commented.
“Look at those adorable tongues out! Enjoy the fun with all the doggos! I can just imagine the giggles from the girls,”
Another user shared some advice, saying.
“A Lab is a retriever by profession. They will carry anything & everything. I have had 7 Labs over the years, and they are the BEST kid dogs ever. Keep them busy & tired, and be patient. Your efforts will be rewarded with their love & devotion. Oh yes, they are also part goat, they will eat almost anything. Mine were partial to crayons! Enjoy them, they will give you their heart. ❤️
Finn & Annie Are the Family’s 2nd & 3rd Dogs
Another fan commented on Napier’s photo of Finn and Annie, saying.
“Put Baker in the middle and you’ve got an Oreo sandwich!”
This fan suggested that if Baker, presumably another pet or family member, were placed between Finn and Annie, it would resemble an Oreo cookie’s classic chocolate and cream filling.
Erin and her husband, Ben Napier, initially adopted their Great Pyrenees, Baker, before their 5-year-old daughter, Helen, was born. They later adopted a second Great Pyrenees, Chevy, who unfortunately passed away before Helen’s birth.
However, Helen and Baker developed a strong and close bond during her early years. Sadly, when Helen was about three years old, Baker also passed away, which left Erin and Ben’s young daughter heartbroken by the loss.
In a February 2022 Instagram post, Erin shared a video of Helen hiding under a blanket, sad about Baker’s absence.
“Our dog Baker passed last July and anytime Helen gets tired and emotional, oh she crushes us!” Erin wrote in the caption, adding, “Problem (😭) —> Solution. Meet the new Baker!”
In the second slide of this February post, Erin shared that she and Ben had adopted another Great Pyrenees dog, and they named this new canine companion Baker as well. Their intention was to provide Helen with a new furry friend to help her cope with the loss of her previous beloved pet.
In a November 2022 post, Erin expressed that Helen had grieved the loss of their previous Baker for several months, and she emphasized that getting another Great Pyrenees, which they also named Baker, was the perfect solution. She encouraged parents to consider getting their children a Great Pyrenees for both their safety and companionship.
I had a black lab for 15 years. She was the best dog!!!! Congratulations.
