The viewership of The History Channel show has been on a sharp decline lately, largely due to viewers tuning out Mike. It appears that the downward trend is beginning to take a toll on the 59-year-old, as evident from his recent Instagram post.

In the post, Mike captured a selfie outdoors alongside his friend and motorcycle daredevil, “Handsome” Charlie Ransom. The duo looked strikingly similar, almost like twins, with their gray, parted long hair, and matching gray beards and mustaches. Neither of them flashed a smile for the camera, with Charlie keeping his hands at his waist.

Starting March on a high note with almost one million viewers, the subsequent episode the following week experienced a significant downturn, attracting only 785,000 viewers—a decline of 151,000 viewers. This decline has clearly sparked concern for Mike, evident in his intensified efforts to promote the series.

In a visible display of his concern, Mike went as far as publicly imploring fans to tune in amidst the ratings drop. Taking to Instagram, he shared a carousel post featuring screen grabs from a recent episode, accompanied by the caption, “Last call to watch tonight’s episode of American Pickers on the History Channel! Don’t miss the train at 9/8c!”

Since the departure of the beloved host Frank Fritz from American Pickers in 2021, the show hasn’t attracted many new viewers. His absence saw him being replaced by Mike’s brother, Robbie, and friend, Jersey Jon, who joined the full-time cast this season.

However, despite these recent changes, Season 25 has been receiving criticism from fans who have labeled it as “boring.” A disgruntled viewer took to social media to express their disappointment with the recent episodes, commenting, “Boring as always… so boring… same crap, different episode.”
