Jeff Laurence is a professional contractor who gained recognition through his appearances on HGTV’s “Unsellable Houses.”
On the show, he collaborated with twin sisters and real estate consultants Lyndsay Lamb and Leslie Davis to renovate and enhance homes that were challenging to sell.
His expertise in remodeling played a crucial role in transforming these properties to make them more appealing to potential buyers.
Beyond his television work, Jeff is the founder and owner of JL Remodeling, a company he established in 2001.
Based in Lynnwood, Washington, JL Remodeling specializes in home renovations, particularly focusing on kitchens and bathrooms. The company is known for its commitment to quality and client satisfaction.
In addition to his business endeavors, Jeff is dedicated to community service. He initiated JL Cares, the nonprofit arm of his company, which aims to assist individuals in need through home improvement projects.
This initiative reflects his commitment to giving back to the community and using his skills to make a positive impact.
In 2023, Jeff decided to step away from “Unsellable Houses” to focus more on expanding his business and philanthropic efforts.
This decision allowed him to dedicate more time to JL Remodeling and JL Cares, furthering his mission to serve clients and the community effectively.
On November 3, 2024, Jeff Laurence, known for his role on HGTV’s Unsellable Houses, shared a deeply personal and tragic update on Facebook. He revealed that his beloved wife, Kelli, had suffered a severe heart attack on Monday, October 28.
The situation was dire as Kelli had no pulse for over 20 minutes. Despite multiple shocks and the administration of epinephrine, her heart eventually resumed beating. Following this, she was airlifted from the emergency room to a cardiac specialist hospital. Early the next morning, she was transferred to a neurology center for further evaluation.
At the neurology center, Kelli was placed on an EEG machine to monitor her brain activity. After days of extensive testing, the heartbreaking news came on November 1: there was no brain activity, and there was no chance of recovery. Reflecting her selfless nature, Kelli’s legacy will continue through the gift of organ and tissue donation, scheduled for November 4 at 1:00 PM. Jeff invited everyone to observe a moment of silence at that time to honor her memory.
In his post, Jeff paid tribute to Kelli as an incredible mother and a gentle, compassionate partner. They had celebrated 30 wonderful years of marriage, and his love for her was profound.
He expressed that she would forever hold a piece of his heart and that he would carry her spirit with him always.
He also requested thoughts and prayers for himself and their children during this immensely difficult time and conveyed gratitude for the outpouring of love and support from friends, family, and well-wishers. Kelli’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and cherished her.

From Jeff: My beautiful, gentle, and compassionate wife, Kelli, suffered a heart attack on Monday, October 28th. She had no pulse for over 20 minutes, and after multiple shocks and epinephrine, her heart started beating again. She was airlifted from the ER to a cardiac specialist hospital and later transferred to a neurology center early Tuesday morning.
Kelli was placed on an EEG machine to monitor brain activity. After extensive testing, we learned on November 1st that she had no brain activity and no chance of recovery. True to her selfless nature, she will be donating her organs and tissues on Monday, November 4th, at 1:00 PM. We invite everyone to take a moment of silence to honor her at that time.
Kelli was an incredible mother, a loving and endlessly patient wife, and truly the best partner I could have ever dreamed of. We recently celebrated 30 amazing years of marriage, and my love for her runs so deep. She is taking a part of my heart with her, and I will carry her spirit with me always.
Please keep our kids and me in your thoughts and prayers in the weeks ahead. We’re deeply grateful to everyone who has reached out. Right now, we’re unsure of what we need, but knowing she was loved by so many brings comfort. Kelli’s beautiful soul will be remembered by all who knew her.

Jeff Later posted another update on November 5, he wrote,
It is hard to find words that fully capture her essence, her kindness, her beauty, and the compassion that she brought into our lives every single day. She was my rock, my confidante, and my greatest blessing.
From the moment we met, I knew she was someone special. Her warmth drew people in, her smile could light up any room, and her heart was as generous as they come. To know her was to know true kindness, and anyone fortunate enough to have been in her life felt the depth of her love and compassion.Kelli was a wonderful mother to our four amazing children: Kamryn, Jackson, Kaitlyn, and Jacob. They were the center of her world, the lights in her life, and the joy she lived for every day.She nurtured them with patience and a steady hand, teaching them the values she held so dear—kindness, humility, and above all, love. Her legacy lives on in them, and I see so much of her in their bright, beautiful spirits. They are a testament to the incredible mother and woman she was.She gave to each of us selflessly, putting her family’s happiness and well-being above all else. She taught us what it means to truly care for others, to be compassionate, and to love unconditionally. She was a friend to many, a listener to all, and her quiet strength was something we all leaned on.Today, we say goodbye, but we hold her spirit close. We will remember her smile, her laughter, and the love she poured into our lives. Though she may no longer be with us physically, her presence will forever be in our hearts and memories. I am so grateful for the time we had together, for the love we shared, and for the family we built.
Kelli you were my love, my light, and my everything. Thank you for blessing me with a lifetime of love and memories. I promise to carry on your legacy, to keep our family strong, and to live in a way that honors the beautiful life you lived. Rest in peace, my love. We will miss you every day, but we will carry you with us always.
