The Shocking Reason Jenn Todryk Walked Away From HGTV at the “Perfect Time”

Published by Staff Writer on

Jenn Todryk is speaking candidly about why she chose to step away from her HGTV series No Demo Reno after its three-season run.

The home renovation personality, 37, recently reflected on her exit from the network show, which aired from 2021 through 2023. During its run, No Demo Reno followed Todryk as she helped homeowners transform their spaces without major demolition.

In a post shared to her Instagram Stories, Jenn explained that leaving the show when she did felt like the right decision for both her and her family. The post, later reported by EntertainmentNow.com, featured an older behind-the-scenes photo of a production crew filming her while one of her daughters stood close by.

Looking back, Todryk said she truly believes she stepped away at exactly the right moment. She shared that she never wanted her children growing up on what felt like a constant set, nor did she want their home life and sense of comfort to be shaped by filming schedules or long stretches of time with her away working.

She also admitted that when she sees images from that chapter of her life, she appreciates them as part of her journey, but not something she wishes had become her entire story. For that, she said, she feels deeply thankful.

Todryk also got more personal about the experience during the March 4 episode of her You, Me & Mike podcast, which she co-hosts with her husband, Mike Todryk. While discussing her television experience, Jenn suggested that one of the hardest parts was feeling like her public image was no longer fully in her own control.

She said it is hard for people to understand what that feels like until their character, integrity, and reputation are shaped by someone else’s editing choices. According to Jenn, a bad edit can seriously damage how a person is viewed.

Mike added that the changing production teams from one season to the next made things even harder for Jenn. He pointed out that the second season did not even have the same editing team, and said a sense of consistency might have helped build trust if the show had continued.

That concern mirrors comments made by Married to Real Estate hosts Egypt Sherrod and Mike Jackson after their HGTV series was canceled in 2025. They also spoke about behind-the-scenes production changes and how those shifts affected the final season, including lengthy delays and added stress.

Even though No Demo Reno has not aired new episodes since 2023, Todryk has made it clear that her relationship with HGTV remains strong. In a March 2025 interview with TV Insider, she said she still has a great connection with the network and that the door remains open if she ever wants to create content again.

At the same time, Jenn admitted that life is extremely full right now and that she is focused on managing everything happening at home. Even so, she said she is grateful for her experience with HGTV and has loved working with the network.
