Pickle Wheat is a fierce alligator hunter and a reality television star known as one of the youngest cast of “Swamp People.” Though she is widely recognized as Pickle Wheat, her actual name is Cheyenne Nicole.
Similarly, having learned hunting from her family, she has been around gators since she was 6 years old. She has been on Swamp People for many years now, and the viewers love her for her charming personality and strategic moves during the hunting period.
However, Pickle fans are currently worried about her after news about her accident came out. What happened to the highly skilled lady gator hunter? Remain with us to find out.
Pickle Wheat once had a near-death experience while hunting. The star has been in the swamps, hunting gators for decades now.
She started it as a little girl and said she would be blessed if she could pass her family legacy to her children too. Pickle has been dating Joshua for some years now, and they announced their pregnancy on the occasion of Women’s Day in 2023.
She and her partner will welcome their baby girl Maemi Rae in May 2023. As she and her team at Swamp People have to risk their lives every day, she claims that the risk of getting bitten by a gator is always there. And at such moments, even the most skilled hunter, her Pickle, may have their heart in their mouth.
Though Pickle has one of the riskiest jobs in the world, she feels happy to be in the swamps and face the deadliest gators. But as she is expecting a child with her boyfriend, Joshua Kippes, her friends and family must not be as happy with Pickle going to the Swamp at present.
Pickle Wheat Remembers Hunting Accident where she almost died
Especially with Pickle already facing an accident earlier. A few years ago, Wheat faced one of the scariest events in her life when she was pulled into the swamp while trying to lift an alligator on the boat. Most notably, she didn’t have anything to protect herself.
According to The U.S. Sun, Pickle fell on top of the gator, and it was swimming in between her legs. She further explained that her team was trying to pull the gator up before she fell because it was on a line. But unfortunately, as she leaned over the front of the boat, they got hit by a tress’s stump, and she fell straight into the water.
“The alligator was attached to the tree and the line, wrapping me up. I’d say that was one of the scariest experiences,”
added Pickle.
Moreover, the lady gator hunter worked with Troy Landry, the veteran hunter with decades of hunting experience.
Pickle revealed that she was not worried much until she saw the fear in Troy’s eyes. She said if the King of the Swamps, Mr. Troy, was scared, things were not right. But instead of panicking, she remained positive and thought things would go right as long as they worked as a team.
So, despite the deadly situation, everyone was calm, and within seconds of her fall, she was handled with a gun, which was used to stop the gator from hurting her. Finally, Pickle claimed that such incidents are common in the swamp, and there is nothing a person can do to prepare themselves.
Similarly, she shared that she has faced such an incident previously, too, where she was wrapped by ropes and pulled in before. But despite the hardships and risks, Pickles claims she will continue to pursue her hunting career.
Now 27, the hunter grew up in a family with a history of alligator hunting. Her great-grandfather was one of the first alligator hunters in her family who passed down his legacy to her family.
Hence coming from such a family, it is unsurprising to see Pickle hunting and opting for the swamp lifestyle fiercely. “Where I’m from, everybody does it, “In my part of the world, it’s normal,” claims the lady hunter.
Additionally, Miss Wheat says there is nothing to be scared of around the swamps. Pickle Wheat has been around the swamps her whole life and now aspires to raise her children the same way.
