Fans are ecstatic as HGTV celebrities Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent welcome the latest addition to their family with open arms.

This charming cat, whose name remains a delightful secret, was an unexpected gift for their 8-year-old daughter, Poppy. Brent had previously shared a heartwarming video of the surprise on August 29th, as Berkus finally gave in to the idea. Brent playfully explained in a video clip within his post, “Well, it seems that the impossible has happened. Nate, who was never keen on the idea of having a cat, and I are all set to surprise Poppy with her very first feline friend.”

“I may be 51 years old, and I’ve never had one of these in my life, but I’m open to giving it a shot,” Berkus shared.

In Brent’s post, there was also a heartwarming video featuring their 5-year-old son, Oskar, joyfully bonding with the newest addition to the Brent-Berkus family.

On August 29, Jeremiah Brent treated his Instagram followers to a heartwarming moment that captured the essence of a family’s love and surprise. In the video he shared, Poppy, the 8-year-old daughter of Brent and Nate Berkus, descended a flight of stairs to find her two fathers standing side by side, each holding her new feline friend in their arms. The sheer delight on her face was unmistakable as she gasped in amazement and eagerly asked, “Hi Virginia… can I hold her?” Poppy’s initial moniker for her newfound furry companion was “Virginia.”

However, in the accompanying caption, Brent playfully disclosed that they were still considering various names before settling on the perfect one, writing, “Surprise, surprise! Poppy is one week into her journey as a cat mom. Virginia… Charlotte… Olive… we’ll see which name sticks.”

The post garnered an outpouring of enthusiasm from fans, friends, and followers of the Brent-Berkus family. One user humorously chimed in, “I’m allergic to cats, but I’d gladly take Benadryl for the rest of my life if someone surprised me with this kitty.”

Another observant follower couldn’t help but recall Nate’s prior aversion to the idea of having a cat, stating, “Didn’t Nate say they’d never get a cat? I love it when parents evolve 😉.”

A third user shared a heartfelt sentiment, acknowledging the pure joy evident on the fathers’ faces as they brought happiness to their child. They noted, “Seeing those dads’ faces is what melts my heart. Ultimate happiness comes from making your child happy. But please stop cutting onions. 🖤”
