Mina Starsiak Hawk reveals fallout With Another ‘Good Bones’ Co-Star.

Several months after disclosing that she was not in communication with her mother and “Good Bones” co-star Karen E. Laine, as well as two of her brothers, Mina Starsiak Hawk, the HGTV star, has now disclosed that she is also estranged from former co-star Cory Miller.

The well-loved series concluded definitively after its eighth season concluded in October 2023, a decision driven by the escalating tensions between Hawk and her family members featured on the show. In the latest episode of her “Mina AF” podcast, which was posted on December 11, 2023, Starsiak Hawk shared the “super bummer” news that she and Miller have also severed ties.

Here are the key details you should be aware of:

Mina Starsiak Hawk Says She ‘Can’t Move On From’ What Happened With Former Co-Star Cory Miller

Joining Two Chicks and a Hammer, the renovation company co-founded by Starsiak Hawk and Laine, Cory Miller became a regular presence on “Good Bones” in 2016, serving as a construction expert, as reported by ScreenRant.

Laine handed over her share of the business to her daughter upon her retirement in 2019, according to Today, but she continued to be part of the show until its conclusion. Miller mainly collaborated with the show’s property specialist, Thadeus Starsiak, who happens to be Starsiak Hawk’s half-brother, with whom she is also not in communication.

In the August 28 episode of her podcast, Starsiak Hawk expressed, “My mom and I aren’t in a great place. My brother Tad and I aren’t in a great place. My brother William and I are in a kind-of-like-nonexistent place. It’s complicated without even being complicated. We don’t really engage much, and the last engagement wasn’t super-positive, and that was maybe a year ago.”

In her recent podcast, she acknowledged the curiosity among many fans about her current relationship status with Miller, particularly since they no longer follow each other on social media.

“So, there have been quite a few questions about Cory, and I want to address this in a respectful manner, recognizing that I have a platform that he may not have,” she shared. “Cory and I are not currently in communication. I am aware that there are things he believes I did to him, and I’ve known him since he was 11; I’ve always had a soft spot for him.”

Starsiak Hawk went on to explain that there were “a couple of things that happened towards the end” that she has chosen not to move on from.

Regarding the decision to unfollow Miller on social media, Starsiak Hawk explained, “I simply don’t want that energy in my life. I have a lot of wonderful people around me, and part of that involves not hate-following or engaging in negativity like, ‘Let me see what this person is doing.'”

She further elaborated, saying, “Many people on social media follow others just to witness failures, setbacks, or unflattering moments. I’m just not interested in that. I don’t want others to do it to me.”

Cory Miller & Karen E. Laine Are Working on a New Project

Starsiak Hawk’s revelation about her strained relationship with Miller coincides with his announcement that he is collaborating on a new project with her mom.

On December 5, Cory posted photos with Laine on his Instagram Stories, as reported by Closer Weekly. Over one image, he mentioned, “Brought out of retirement to film.” Another photo of them in the car had the caption, “Riding around and gettin’ it with my besties!”

While the nature of their collaboration remains undisclosed, in a November 17 post discussing a home project, Miller responded to fans expressing their miss for the “Good Bones” cast on HGTV. “Stay tuned,” he assured one fan, and to another, he replied, “not over yet!”

Notably, in November 2022, Miller contributed to a spinoff show with Laine titled “Good Bones: Better Yard.”

Meanwhile, Starsiak Hawk is actively involved in her own “Good Bones” spinoff, showcasing renovations at a lake house near Indianapolis that she and her husband constructed.
