The drama continues to unfold in the world of home renovation shows! In the third season of “Rock the Block,” Jonathan and Jordan Knight made an appearance as guest judges. They ultimately chose Jenny and Dave Marrs from “Fixer to Fabulous” as the winners, but not without a bit of controversy.
During the judging portion of the competition, Jonathan made a comment about the countertop choice of the twins, Lyndsay Lamb and Leslie Davis, calling it “basic.” Little did he know that this one word would haunt him for quite some time.

In season 4 of “Rock the Block,” Lyndsay Lamb and Leslie Davis returned as judges for the main suite face-off, giving them the perfect opportunity to confront Jonathan Knight about his past comment labeling their countertop choice as “basic.”
Their conversation with Jonathan was aired in the bonus footage episode of season 4, titled “Rock the Block: Behind the Block.”
In a confessional, Lyndsay expressed her hopes for an apology, saying that maybe they will get a simple apology in the show. Leslie chimed in, adding that she just wants something simple.
The editors then included a hilarious “Basic Count” segment, showing clips of various people using the word “basic” to Jonathan throughout the filming of season 4. Even guest judges Jenny Marrs, Brian Kleinschmidt, and Alison Victoria, as well as contestant Bryan Baeumler, got in on the fun, poking fun at Jonathan’s past word choice.
Despite the ongoing joke about the “basic” label, Lyndsay and Leslie maintained their professionalism and judged the main suites fairly. In the end, they awarded the weekly win to Michel Smith Boyd and Anthony Elle, who would eventually go on to win the entire season.
