Lizzy Musi, born on January 1, 1991, in New Jersey, began her drag racing career at the age of 16. Her passion for racing was evident from the start, and she quickly made a name for herself with her exceptional driving skills and fearless approach to the sport. Lizzy’s official debut came in 2007 when she started competing in local drag races. By 2013, she had broken multiple records and became a trailblazer for women in the male-dominated world of drag racing.

In 2014, Lizzy won her first national event in Pro Nitrous at the Professional Drag Racers Association (PDRA) U.S. Drags in Dinwiddie, Virginia. Her tenacity and commitment to excellence were evident in every race she participated in, and she continued to push the boundaries of what was possible on the track.

Battle with Cancer

In a devastating turn of events, Lizzy Musi was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer in October 2021. Surrounded by her family, in the comfort of her own home, Lizzy Musi was called to heaven at 11:25 PM on June 27, 2024. Her father, Pat Musi, shared the heartbreaking news on Facebook, expressing deep gratitude for the prayers and support the family received throughout Lizzy’s battle with cancer.

“Thank you for all the prayers and support throughout her battle,” Pat Musi wrote. “At this time, the family would like to have time to process, grieve, and make arrangements in peace. We will give an update as soon as we have information to share.”

Lizzy Musi’s legacy will forever live on in the hearts of those she inspired both on and off the racetrack. Her incredible career, her brave fight against cancer, and her unwavering spirit will be remembered and celebrated by all who knew her and followed her journey. Rest in peace, Lizzy.
