Known for his love of vintage cars, Jay Leno, the 72-year-old American comedian, and TV star has suffered yet another accident. Months after being rushed to the hospital with severe burns on his face, Leno was involved in a new accident that left him with several broken bones.
The car enthusiast recently talked to Las Vegas Journal about his accident. He said that he fell off his motorbike on 17th January and suffered multiple bone injuries, including 2 cracked kneecaps, broken ribs, and a broken collarbone.
After the accident, Jay took a brief break from work as he underwent shoulder surgery. However, in a recent interview, Leno comforted his well-wishers and said he was doing fine and would be working this weekend.
Now speaking of the accident, Mr. Leno said he was on a test drive of his 1940 Indian motorbike when he parked it aside to check if something was wrong after he felt the gas smell. “So, you know, I didn’t see it until it was too late. It just clothesline me and, boom, knocked me off the bike,” said the TV star.
Likewise, Jay stated that he did not reveal the accident sooner because he was still recovering from his previous mishap in November. The accident had occurred in his garage when he was working on his vintage 1907 vehicle after it was clogged and later erupted into flames.
The accident caused a third-degree burn on his face, and soon, he was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance.
On Friday, 27th January 2023, Leno said, “Just had a little accident right after my other accident. It’s a 72-year-old guy driving an 83-year-old motorcycle.”
Similarly, on Saturday, the host posted a funny tweet saying, “I was riding my motorcycle up in Lake Tahoe and I came around the corner and bam, I crashed into Jeremy Renner’s snowplow.”
After the tweet, his well-wishers showered his comment section with concerned messages and said they were glad he was okay.
It appears that the TV star loves to add a little chuckle in every situation. While he joked about his recent accident, his comment on his previous accident was even funnier. The man said, “I Never Thought of Myself as a Roast Comic.”
According to NBC News, Jay Leno’s Garage presenter also said he was guilty of having 2 significant accidents within a few months.
Now, regarding the comedian’s health update, the presenter has recovered by now and stated that he would continue performing stand-ups as he prepares for a stage debut at Encire Theatre on 31st March.
Despite the odds, the beloved comedian is determined to recover and get back to making audiences laugh.
