Due to the holiday, immediate procedures were delayed, and his sodium levels needed stabilization before any surgery could be performed. The family was hopeful for a procedure on the upcoming Friday.

The next day, Jason underwent imaging and a biopsy for his lungs. Preparations began for a kidney stent and a possible bowel resection, a development that came as a surprise to Mary. The doctor performing the biopsy reviewed the CT scan and expressed confidence that the spots on Jason’s lungs were malignant. However, he had a different opinion on the abdominal mass, suggesting it could be inflamed scar tissue from radiation treatment in 2019 rather than a tumor.

Jason went into surgery and, after a few hours, successfully bypassed the blockage. The surgical team reconnected his small intestines to his large intestines, and Jason began his recovery. The family awaited biopsy results, expected on Monday, to understand the full extent of his condition.
