Jason Hawk’s Wife Mary Hawk provides update on Jason’s health and requests for Prayers and Help.

Jason Hawk, known for his appearances on the reality TV show “Mountain Men,” has been a beloved figure for fans who admire his skills as a knifesmith and his rugged lifestyle. Jason joined the cast of “Mountain Men” in 2016, where he showcased his expertise in traditional survival skills, living off the land, and crafting knives. His dedication and resilience made him a standout on the show.

In 2021, Jason left “Mountain Men” due to a serious health battle. He was diagnosed with cancer, which required intensive treatment and forced him to step away from the show to focus on his health and recovery. Despite the challenges, Jason continued to be a source of inspiration for many, sharing updates on his journey and maintaining his passion for knifemaking whenever possible.

However, in early July 2024, Jason’s health took another troubling turn. On July 4, Jason’s wife, Mary, posted an update on Facebook detailing his recent health struggles. For several weeks, Jason had difficulty keeping food down and experienced significant abdominal pain. Initially suspected to be a stomach bug, his condition did not improve. Jason became so dizzy and dehydrated that emergency medical services were called, and he was transported to Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith.

A CT scan revealed a mass obstructing the flow from his left kidney and intestines, along with suspicious spots on his lungs. Due to the holiday, immediate procedures were delayed, and his sodium levels needed stabilization before any surgery could be performed. The family was hopeful for a procedure on the upcoming Friday.

The next day, Jason underwent imaging and a biopsy for his lungs. Preparations began for a kidney stent and a possible bowel resection, a development that came as a surprise to Mary. The doctor performing the biopsy reviewed the CT scan and expressed confidence that the spots on Jason’s lungs were malignant. However, he had a different opinion on the abdominal mass, suggesting it could be inflamed scar tissue from radiation treatment in 2019 rather than a tumor.

Jason went into surgery and, after a few hours, successfully bypassed the blockage. The surgical team reconnected his small intestines to his large intestines, and Jason began his recovery. The family awaited biopsy results, expected on Monday, to understand the full extent of his condition.

Throughout this challenging period, Jason’s wife continued to update supporters, expressing gratitude for their prayers and messages. Mary has been actively pleading with fans and family for financial support to cover the mounting hospital bills.

They set up a GoFundMe page with a goal of $15,000, and thanks to the generosity of their community, they have surpassed this goal. Mary has been profoundly thankful, saying, “Thank you so much for everything. Any little bit helps pay the bills while Jason is healing.” She also mentioned plans to create some t-shirts and merchandise to further support their family during this difficult time.

On July 8, Mary provided another update on Jason’s health. Jason finally had his nasogastric (NG) tube removed, allowing him to enjoy some chicken soup and chocolate pudding, a small but significant comfort after his ordeal.

The lung biopsy results came back, confirming that the spots were indeed malignant. They are still awaiting results on his liver and the tissue in his abdomen. Mary expressed gratitude for the small victories, saying, “We are so thankful that he is allowed to eat and gain some strength back. Thank you all for keeping him in your thoughts and prayers.”

Jason Hawk remains in the thoughts and prayers of his fans as he faces yet another difficult chapter in his health journey. Despite the grim news, Jason’s strength and resilience continue to inspire those who have followed his story from “Mountain Men” to his ongoing battle with cancer. The outpouring of support from the community highlights the impact he has had on so many lives, demonstrating the deep bond between Jason and his fans.
