Last week on Home Town Takeover, HGTV favorite Jasmine Roth made a special return as a guest designer, joining Ben and Erin Napier as they continued their transformation of Sebring, Florida. With this appearance in Season 3, Jasmine has now been part of every season of the show—including the 2022 spinoff Home Town: Kickstart—and she shared that being invited back was a true honor.
“I was blown away by the town,” Jasmine said of Sebring. “It’s absolutely beautiful, and the people were so kind and genuinely invested in their community. You could really feel how much the work meant to them and how lasting the impact will be.”
In the episode titled “Wish You Were Here,” Jasmine helped bring a new “postcard mural” to life—a vibrant orange grove scene designed as a photo spot for visitors—and also assisted in renovating the home of a local couple dedicated to supporting veterans in the area.
Jasmine also played a role in kicking off the restoration of a historic downtown building, which is set to become the second location of Sophie’s Café—a beloved, family-owned Cuban restaurant in Sebring. Just hearing about the popular eatery on the show is enough to make anyone hungry, so of course, we had to ask: Did Jasmine get a chance to try it?
Unfortunately, she didn’t.
“I was only there for a short time, and I was working nonstop, so I didn’t get the chance. I was so bummed,” Jasmine admitted. “But I heard amazing things. Everyone kept saying, ‘Oh my gosh, it’s so good.’”
Even without the meal, Jasmine was grateful to be part of the restaurant’s next chapter, helping lay the foundation for its future in the heart of Sebring.
The transformation of Sophie’s Café continued in an episode of Home Town Takeover, titled “An Extra Seat at the Table,” aired Sunday, March 23. And if you’re planning a trip to Sebring soon and want a taste of its authentic Cuban cuisine, you’re in luck—the café officially announced the grand opening of its new location on Instagram on March 7.
A fun behind-the-scenes detail from Jasmine’s time on Season 3: she could instantly tell how much time had passed since filming began in February 2024—thanks to her baby bump! “I was freshly pregnant,” Jasmine shared with a laugh. “I watched the episode on Sunday night and thought, whoa, I’m waddling around.” Jasmine and her husband Brett welcomed their second daughter in September, and their little one is now six months old.
Reflecting on her time on the show, Jasmine said, “What Ben and Erin do is incredible, and it really hits home for me because I grew up in a small town. I’ve always carried that small-town mindset—even when I’ve lived in big cities, I’ve craved that community feel. They really bring that to life. It’s amazing how they find these deserving towns with so much heart and bring not just their talents, but all of ours, along with HGTV’s support, to help them thrive.”
