HGTV’s Jenny Marrs reveals shocking Renovation Fail on ‘Fixer to Fabulous’

Fixer to Fabulous star Jenny Marrs may have a natural talent for home design and renovation, but when it comes to arts and crafts, she’s the first to admit it’s not her strong suit.

On Tuesday (March 18), the beloved HGTV personality shared a behind-the-scenes moment on Instagram from a recent episode of the renovation series she co-hosts with her husband, Dave Marrs. In the post, she revealed a funny mishap from a recent project.

“I knew I wanted to save and reuse the old ‘Beaver Lake Lodge’ sign letters, which unintentionally turned into an arts and crafts assignment,” Jenny wrote. “And let’s be honest—I’m just not that kind of girl.”

She added with a laugh, “Dave and I couldn’t stop laughing at how crooked the letters turned out. He told me to just leave it, but I couldn’t handle the slant—so we scrapped it and started over. Thankfully, he helped me the second time around!”

In the clip, Dave says, “We need to go back and do a little bit of rework,” before playfully pointing at Jenny and rolling his eyes. “I’m not gonna say anything—these things happen,” he adds with a grin.

The pair then lay the sign flat on a table, carefully remove the ARKA letters, and begin re-measuring to ensure everything lines up correctly. Once Dave checks the spacing, he discovers that Jenny’s original layout was off by about an inch.

“It looked fine when it was flat,” Jenny jokes. “It’s just once it goes up on the wall…”

“It could happen to anyone—and we’re fixing it,” Dave replies reassuringly.

Jenny playfully fires back, “Guess I’m never getting invited back!”

When she admits, “It’s harder than it looks,” Dave teases, “Well, you’ve got to know how to read a tape measure for this kind of job.”
