HGTV’s 2026 Return List Is Taking Shape After a Rough Year for Fans

Published by Staff Writer on

HGTV entered 2026 with a lot to prove. After backlash over the cancellation of several fan-favorite shows, the network has clearly shifted its focus toward dependable franchises and familiar stars. Instead of slowing down, HGTV is filling its 2026 lineup with returning series that already have loyal audiences, from long-running renovation staples to newer competition and real-estate hits.

As of April 2, several HGTV titles have already made their way back to the screen. Home Town kicked off its milestone 10th season on January 4, giving Erin and Ben Napier another 16-episode run in Laurel, Mississippi. Rehab Addict also resumed fresh Season 9 episodes in February, while Renovation Aloha returned March 31 for its third season. And although HGTV’s rollout has been staggered, 100 Day Dream Home remains one of the network’s confirmed 2026 returnees as well.

The next wave of returns is arriving quickly. Rock the Block is set to launch Season 7 on April 13, with Ty Pennington once again hosting the network’s high-stakes renovation showdown. Then on May 1, HGTV will roll out a Friday-night pairing built around two of its most recognizable feel-good real-estate brands: My Lottery Dream Home and Zillow Gone Wild. David Bromstad’s series returns at 9 p.m. ET, followed by Jack McBrayer’s Zillow Gone Wild at 9:30 p.m., and HGTV has also promoted a crossover featuring both hosts.

Beyond those spring premieres, HGTV still has a healthy bench of returning shows lined up for later in 2026. The Flip Off has been renewed for Season 2, keeping Christina Haack, Tarek El Moussa and Heather Rae El Moussa in the mix despite the cancellations of their solo shows. Castle Impossible is also coming back for Season 2, while Love It or List It remains on the return list with David Visentin and Page Turner. Meanwhile, HGTV has ordered nearly 400 new combined episodes of House Hunters and House Hunters International, showing just how heavily the network still relies on its most durable brands. Scariest House in America is another title previously confirmed among the 2026 returnees.

The bigger picture is pretty clear: HGTV is trying to steady itself by betting on names viewers already know. Christina Haack stays in the lineup through The Flip Off, Ty Pennington remains a centerpiece with Rock the Block, David Bromstad still anchors one of the network’s most recognizable franchises, and the Property Brothers continue to be part of the strategy through both returning and new programming. That makes the 2026 schedule feel less like a total reset and more like a controlled rebuild after a year of cancellations that upset a big part of the fan base.

One important note: a few titles mentioned in the broader 2026 lineup, such as Neighborhood Watch and Property Brothers: Under Pressure, are new shows, not returns. So if the goal is a pure list of HGTV series coming back in 2026, the safest headline names are Home Town, Rehab Addict, Renovation Aloha, 100 Day Dream Home, Rock the Block, My Lottery Dream Home, Zillow Gone Wild, The Flip Off, Castle Impossible, Love It or List It, House Hunters, House Hunters International and Scariest House in America.
