HGTV Star Jenn Todryk Quietly Reveals Tragic Death in Her Family

The vivacious HGTV personality, known as the “rambling redhead,” Jenn Todryk, has recently opened up about the quiet grief she’s experiencing due to the loss of her grandmother just before the festive Christmas season—a time she typically treasures spent with her extensive family.

Despite being the star of “No Reno Demo” and boasting an impressive 1.4 million followers on her Instagram account, filled with humorous videos and seasonal giveaways, Todryk momentarily shifted gears on December 13, 2023. Taking a break from her usual high-energy posts, she shared the heartfelt news of her grandmother’s passing through a poignant note on her Instagram Stories.

Jenn Todryk Calls Her Grandma a ‘Strong Woman’ in Tribute

After sharing a couple of festive promotional links on her Instagram Stories, the 35-year-old Todryk took a poignant turn. She posted a photo seated at her grandmother’s hospital bedside, both sharing smiles for the camera. Above the image, Todryk conveyed her heartfelt sentiments: “Rest in peace Grandma 💔”

In a touching caption beneath the photo, she honored her grandmother as a remarkably strong woman whose love for family surpassed everything. Todryk expressed, “There will never be a grandma as sweet as you.”

As the Christian artist Brandon Lake’s song “Gratitude” played in the background, Todryk continued sharing the comforting details: “She knew where she was going and even spoke about seeing Heaven right before she went to be with Him 🕊️”

The HGTV star concluded her post with one of her cherished sayings, affirming,

“God is good all of the time 🙏” The next morning, on December 14, Todryk returned to her Instagram Stories with a message of appreciation.

In white lettering against a purple backdrop, she conveyed her gratitude, saying, “Thank you for all of the sweet messages regarding my grandma! I appreciate the prayers for my Dad’s family. I feel y’all’s prayers 🙏”

HGTV’s Jenn Todryk Goes Above & Beyond for Her Family

Todryk, who is a mother to three young children with her husband Mike, frequently emphasizes the significance of her family, including her grandparents. Having grown up in Burleson, Texas—a suburb of Fort Worth—she continues to reside in the area, maintaining close proximity to her parents.

In a notable moment in July 2022, Todryk shared a photo capturing her family bidding farewell to the residence in Granville, Ohio, where her mother, Cathy Marsh, spent her formative years.

The HGTV star joyfully announced that her maternal grandmother was selling the house she had called home for 55 years to relocate nearer to them in Texas.

In the caption accompanying the post, Todryk reflected on the family’s tradition of making summer trips and occasional Christmas visits despite the geographical distance from her mom’s parents.

She expressed mixed emotions about the final visit to the Ohio house, noting, “While we lived far from my Mom’s parents, we always made it up in the summer and a couple of Christmases because we wanted to see snow 😆 Sad to have my last trip here but happy that my Grandma is excited to come be closer to all of us! ❤️”

If history serves as any guide, Todryk is likely immersed in the hustle and bustle of preparing for the upcoming Christmas celebration with her extensive family. In a November 2022 episode of the podcast “You, Me & Mike,” co-hosted with her husband, she delved into the delightful chaos that ensues during the holiday season at their home.

Sharing insights, she remarked, “The holidays can be super stressful. If you don’t know what I do, I host Christmas starting December 23rd. My family comes over, my parents start — they’re the first ones here. And I host anywhere from 18 to 25 people for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.”

Adding to the festive juggle, Todryk mentioned in a November Instagram Story, later archived on YouTube, that she had already played host to a sizable gathering for Thanksgiving.

She disclosed that her mother-in-law was so overjoyed at the prospect of not hosting Thanksgiving that she promptly booked her flight upon receiving the invitation. Sharing the details, Todryk said, “Mike’s family is coming down from Wisconsin, and I am hosting Thanksgiving this year, which I have never done.

We always go to Wisconsin for Thanksgiving, and this year we were like, ‘We would love to host you guys. Do you want to have it here?’ And Sue was so excited; she booked her flight the very next morning.”
