Read more to find out about him and the cause of his untimely death.
Jesse Goins Bio
American character actor Jesse D. Goins worked in both television and film. His most well-known performance was as Cyler Johnson in the 1980s television series The Greatest American Hero. On February 23, 1960, Jesse Goins was born in the United States.
Previously, he was wed to Rhenda Goins. He passed away on 18 August 2020.
Work on the Show
Late Jesse Goins’s major role in the show Gold Rush was of a miner. The program follows Dave Turin as he travels to various abandoned gold mines in the Western US. Then he chooses which mine to develop into a successful, operational mine.
Many more miners became more well-known thanks to the television series, including Jesse Goins, who worked as a gold room operator for the program, checking and cleaning the gold as it was brought to the surface.
Gold Rush: Dave Turin’s Lost Mine featured Jesse in 15 episodes. In the program, Jesse and Dave investigated abandoned gold mines all throughout the country. They would discuss which gold mines were profitable enough to reopen after seeing them.
When he tragically died, the show was still being filmed.
Cause of Death
Gold miner Jesse Goins had been filming Gold Rush: Dave Turin’s Lost Mine for Discovery on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, somewhere in Colorado. A cast member on the show’s set discovered Jesse unconscious that evening, according to TMZ, right outside of the “gold room.”
He was a well-known operator of the “gold room,” where the miners cleaned and separated the gold, thus it is presumed that he was coming from there when he collapsed. He passed away at the age of 60.
A medic from the Discovery show apparently had on-site coverage and arrived quickly. They were able to do CPR up until the arrival of the EMTs.
Jesse was taken to the hospital by the EMTs, but it was already too late. Jesse passed away from what is thought to have been a heart attack, although the precise reason for his passing is still unknown.
Consequently, the gold mining industry as well as program viewers, were absolutely taken aback by this significant setback. The sudden death must have rattled the cast to their very core while Season 3 of “Gold Rush: Dave Turin’s Lost Mine” was being filmed, but it’s clear from all of this that Jesse Goins had a profound impact on many people’s lives.
It’s difficult to tell how this setback will affect the show’s mining operation, but the search for gold in the lost mine continues—and, given the popularity of the program, it’s likely to continue for a number of more seasons. Nevertheless, the gold mining show lost a diamond amidst the show.
