Erin Napier, the beloved co-host of HGTV’s Home Town, is no stranger to tackling challenges, whether it’s restoring historic homes or balancing her bustling career.
However, the television personality is now facing a deeply personal battle as her mother, Karen Rasberry, has been diagnosed with coronary artery disease. Just weeks after navigating a terrifying accident involving her young daughter, Erin has once again turned to her fans for prayers and support.
Born on August 30, 1985, Erin Napier has made a name for herself as a designer, entrepreneur, and television personality.
Alongside her husband, Ben Napier, she has dedicated her life to preserving and restoring old homes in Laurel, Mississippi.
The couple’s passion for storytelling and craftsmanship led them to star in HGTV’s Home Town, which premiered in 2016 and has since captured the hearts of millions.
Outside of her television career, Erin is also a best-selling author, a devoted mother of two daughters, and a successful business owner. She and Ben run Laurel Mercantile Co. and Scotsman Co., keeping their love for small-town America at the heart of their ventures.
But despite her bright, inspiring presence on-screen, Erin has been privately grappling with back-to-back family struggles.
Erin took to Instagram Stories to share a heartbreaking request, asking her followers to pray for her mother, Karen Rasberry, who had been feeling unwell before receiving a serious diagnosis.
“My mama wrote this,” Erin captioned a screenshot of her mother’s Facebook post. “Y’all say a prayer for her?”
The message, written by Rasberry herself, was accompanied by a stunning ocean view—a place that brings her peace.
“This is the place and view that always touches my soul and makes my heart feel light. It’s especially important today,” Rasberry wrote.
She then dropped a shocking revelation:
“Have you ever thought about being a woman and having coronary artery disease? Probably not.”
Rasberry recently underwent a cardiac catheterization, a procedure used to detect arterial blockages. Doctors confirmed the grim news—she had two blockages in the left anterior descending (LAD) artery, one of the most dangerous locations for heart disease. The condition required two stents to restore proper blood flow.
Though she avoided the worst-case scenario, Rasberry revealed just how serious her condition had been.
“It wasn’t the widowmaker, but it was too close for comfort,” she admitted, referencing the widowmaker heart attack, which occurs when the LAD artery is fully blocked—a condition that is often fatal.
Reflecting on her health journey, Rasberry confessed that she had been ignoring the subtle warning signs that many women experience.
“I was very sick but paid little attention to the vague symptoms that women often have,” she wrote, before adding a lighthearted touch:
“My condition is largely due to unfortunate genetics—and probably a little too much Ranch dressing, Rotel dip, and fried fish.”
Now, as she embarks on the difficult road to recovery, Rasberry is asking for prayers.
“It’s going to be a long few months of healing and adjusting to medications that feel unfamiliar to me,” she admitted.
