The hit HGTV reality show “Home Town,” which centres around home renovation in Laurel, owes its popularity to the lively and hardworking hosts Ben and Erin Napier, who go above and beyond to renovate their clients’ dream homes while also entertain their audience.
However, it’s worth addressing that Ben and Erin don’t solely lead the restoration efforts in Laurel. And only a few know that the Napiers also rely on the skills and dedication of their colleague and longtime friend, Josh Nowell.
Josh has been a valuable member of Ben and Erin’s team, using his talent and commitment to preserving and restoring the legacy of their hometown, Laurel. While the show hosts are well-known, it’s worth learning more about Josh Nowell and his valuable contributions to the success of “Home Town.”
So, remain with us to learn more about the co-star of “Home Town,” Josh Nowell.
Home Town Co-star, Josh Nowell
Joshua Nowell, or Josh Nowell, is a dear friend of “Home Town” hosts Erin and Ben. He has been by the couple’s side since the launch of Laurel Mercantile. Co.
Josh is mainly found working with Ben in his carpentry and woodwork. Holding a great passion for woodwork, Josh says he rarely gets time to be back in the shop at present due to his business.
As per his LinkedIn bio, he is the founder of Petrolia Land Company, an oil and gas land service. He founded the company in 2015, but before that, he had another job recruitment company, Landserve. Com. Currently, he is taking both of his business side by side.
Like Erin and Ben, Josh is also passionate about transforming his hometown, Laurel. So with this motive, he remembers buying an old downtown property to restore it in the future. And a decade later, Josh partnered with Erin and Ben, renovating the building into a beautiful candle store and making it the extension of Laurel Mercantile Co.
Despite having a limited time for wood crafting, Nowell, a BBA graduate of the University of Mississippi, often makes time to join his longtime friend Erin and Ben on “Home Town.” He says neither he nor Ben can be in the woodshop as much as they want because of Ben’s long filming hours and his demanding business.
While Josh has participated in numerous woodworking projects for clients’ homes on “Home Town,” he has claimed his favourite one to be the Cedar Shelves he constructed at the Moffett House during Season 5.
Josh Nowell’s Wife: Does He Have Kids
Along with Josh, his wife Emily Nowell is also often featured on “Home Town.” According to the source, the couple’s relationship began with a blind date in the early 2000s after they both graduated from college.
They hit it off immediately, dated for a while, and eventually tied the knot on October 9, 2010, in a grand ceremony. The wedding featured traditional Irish music played by guitars, fiddles, and Spanish Moss draped from the large oak trees.
After their marriage, the Nowells spent several years travelling and working for their company. However, once Emily became pregnant, their travels slowed down, and they settled in one place.
Today, Emily and Josh have a large and lively family, filled with the laughter of four young children – two daughters named Irene and Nora and two sons named Sam and Teddy. Interestingly the father of 4 says that his children inspired his first solo project (family dining table) before they were born.
Josh says, “I decided to build a table because I loved the idea of our children growing up around one their daddy built. It was an 80-hour labour of love.”
