Documentary about Ina Garten and Martha Stewart Feud.

In just eight days, Martha, the new documentary about Martha Stewart, will debut on Netflix. You’ve likely already seen the viral trailer clip where she gives some blunt advice: “Young women, listen up. If you’re married and your husband cheats, he’s a piece of trash. Leave that marriage.” The interviewer then asks, “Didn’t you have an affair early on?”

to which she swiftly replies, “Yeah, but I don’t think Andy [Stewart] ever knew about it.” It’s like she’s the real-life version of Cristine Rose’s Wealthy Divorcee character from He’s Just Not That Into You—a true inspiration!

The promo is definitely working because I can’t remember the last time I was this excited for a celebrity documentary.

Stewart kept the momentum going on Sunday night when she appeared on Watch What Happens Live alongside Snoop Dogg and Seth Meyers, dropping another juicy tidbit—this time about her former friendship with fellow chef Ina Garten.

Andy Cohen asked Martha Stewart if she had read Ina Garten’s memoir Be Ready When the Luck Happens, which was released on October 1. “I’ve read parts of it,” Stewart replied. “Did you read the part about you?” Cohen followed up.

“Oh yes,” she confirmed. When Cohen pressed her for her thoughts, Stewart simply said, “She can write whatever she wants.” Needless to say, this exchange has turned into great publicity for Garten’s memoir, and I’ll definitely be rushing out to grab a copy this afternoon!

Snoop chimed in, asking what really happened. “Ina said they drifted apart because Martha moved to Connecticut,” Cohen explained. Stewart quickly shot that down, saying, “That’s not true.”

“Martha thinks the distance started…,” Cohen began, but Stewart cut in, “After I went to jail.”

“That’s when I stepped in,” Snoop Dogg added, to which the audience erupted in cheers. “When one friend walks out the door, another walks in,” Cohen concluded.

Honestly, where’s Ryan Murphy when we need him? I’ve now set up Google alerts for both Garten and Stewart and am fully prepared to personally mediate this conversation/reconciliation/bake-off if no one else is willing to step in!
