The sneak peek of “Hot Mess Renos” captures David Bromstad’s reactions to snippets of fellow HGTV hosts tackling some of the most challenging renovations from their respective shows. At one point, Bromstad cheekily remarks, “I’m not here to judge. Okay, maybe a little.” The teaser features clips of Christina Hall and Tarek El Moussa from “Flip or Flop,” Dave and Jenny Marrs from “Fixer to Fabulous,” Page Turner from “Fix My Flip,” and Mina Starsiak Hawk from “Good Bones.” These hosts are seen grappling with challenges like roaches, bees, and even a collapsing roof.

“Absolutely! If David’s on it, then my eyes are glued to the TV!” exclaimed one fan.
“Oh yes, anything with David is a good thing lol,” commented another user.
Reddit users raised questions about whether Bromstad’s reaction show would be an ongoing series with multiple episodes or just a one-off special. One user remarked, “So he does snarky comments over clips from other shows?” while another noted, “Looks like a one-time clip show. I see footage from the Marrs’ disaster column at their Inn.”
According to the HGTV schedule, “Hot Mess Renos” might be a one-off special, but it seems Bromstad will be returning for similar reaction specials over the next couple of weeks.
On December 1, he’s slated to appear in a “Sexiest Splash Pads” special, followed by a “Backyards Gone Wild” special on December 8. Two more specials are scheduled, featuring “Filthiest Flips” on December 15 and “Homes That Make You Go WOW” on December 22. Fans can look forward to more entertaining content from Bromstad in the coming weeks.
How Bromstad found success on HGTV as a star
