HGTV shows have long been beloved by fans, even if they don’t always receive the recognition they deserve in the awards circuit. However, on April 19th, two popular HGTV programs broke through that barrier by earning Emmy nominations, much to the delight of their loyal viewers. These shows will be competing against three other strong contenders from different networks in the same category.
The Television Academy recently announced the nominees for the 51st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, which will be broadcast on CBS on June 7th. Among those vying for top honors in the Outstanding Instructional/How-To Program category are “Fixer to Fabulous,” hosted by Jenny and Dave Marrs, along with another HGTV show. The competition is fierce as these fan-favorites go head-to-head with three other notable programs from various channels.
Although an Emmy win would technically honor each show’s producers, both sets of hosts couldn’t hide their excitement over this prestigious acknowledgment. They took to Instagram to share their joy and gratitude with their followers.
HGTV Stars Celebrate Their Emmy Nominations
On April 20th, Jenny and Dave Marrs shared a heartfelt post filled with behind-the-scenes photos and videos chronicling their journey on “Fixer to Fabulous.” In a touching caption, Jenny reflected on how far they’ve come since filming their initial sizzle reel—a crucial step that ultimately led to securing a full series order from HGTV.
Jenny expressed her deep appreciation for being nominated while remaining humble about it all. She wrote:
“We found out yesterday that our show was nominated for an Emmy award (🤯), and while that’s pretty cool, it’s mostly just a chance to celebrate our peeps.” She went on to highlight how essential their dedicated team has been—both those working behind-the-scenes and those who appear onscreen—in making “Fixer to Fabulous” what it is today. Concluding her message optimistically she added: “We’ll find out who wins in June but honestly? We already feel like winners.”
In another emotional post reflecting back eight years ago when they first welcomed camera crews into their home in Bentonville Arkansas—Jenny recounted how surreal it felt at first:
“I remember thinking ‘this is absolutely crazy… why would anyone want watch us?’” she admitted candidly before sharing concerns about exposing her young family (then aged between two-and-six) under public scrutiny.

But after praying over whether or not this opportunity aligned with God’s plan—they decided take leap faith—and haven’t looked back since! Grateful beyond words now having built such close-knit relationships within production team whom she describes as ‘family’—Jenny concluded saying:
>
>“Yesterday we learned our show got nominated…and while yes—that’s amazing—it really just gives us reason celebrate everyone involved!”
Fans quickly flooded comment sections across social media platforms congratulating both teams involved expressing admiration dedication poured into every episode produced!
Alison Victoria & Four Other Shows Compete Against Fixer To Fabulous
Alison Victoria also couldn’t contain excitement upon hearing news about nomination; taking Instagram herself April 19th exclaiming:
>”📣 📣 I did it! We did it! Now let’s go bring home that gold beauty 🌟,”
One client featured during season four playfully commented suggesting perhaps their episode might’ve been what pushed nomination over edge jokingly adding:
>”This soooooo exciting!! Congratulations whole team!! 👏 👏 👏 👏 (I’m pretty sure was our episode pushed you top 🤣 🤣).”
Another fan chimed expressing admiration writing:
>”Congratulations well-deserved nomination! Your show one look forward each week incredible team thank love put into every single episode 😍”
As “Fixer To Fabulous” squares off against Alison Victoria’s “Windy City Rehab,” they’re not alone—the race includes three additional heavy-hitters vying same prize:
- Chip Joanna Gaines’ Magnolia Network reboot “Fixer Upper: The Hotel,”
- Netflix’s innovative “Hack My Home,”
- And finally Martha Stewart herself returns Roku Channel presenting “Martha Gardens.”
Interestingly enough last year saw Martha Stewart competing alongside another Gaines spinoff titled “Fixer Upper: The Castle” yet neither managed clinch victory losing instead Netflix’s surprise hit “Instant Dream Home.”
With previous winner no longer part equation—all five nominees stand equal chance seizing coveted trophy come June!
