Daniel Edgar is a trapper, businessman, and third-generation fisherman who features on Swamp People. Like the rest of his co-stars, Edgar also relies on the 30-day alligator hunting season to provide for his family.
Being a native of Louisiana and the Bayou in extension, it’s no surprise that Daniel is quite proficient when it comes to tracking down and bagging alligators. Most of his experience stems from his childhood, particularly as he got the chance to work alongside the rest of his family.
Meet Daniel Edgar’s first wife and learn everything about their kids.
Who is Daniel Edgar from Swamp People?
Daniel Edgar is a reality star who joined the cast of Swamp People in its 7th season back in 2016. Since he has lived in the Bayou for so long, the question most people ask is why it took him so long to feature in Swamp People to begin with. Well, the answer is simple.
Daniel preferred to keep his head down and focus on hunting. Consequently, he turned down multiple opportunities to get on television. In fact, it took the intervention of his friend and fellow co-star, Troy Landry, for him to finally say yes.
Over the next few years, Daniel would become an established cast member on Swamp People, earning the nickname “Creole Patriarch.’ His popularity provided the perfect platform for him to set St. Mary’s, a popular seafood business in the Bayou.
Recently, Daniel has decided to introduce a few of the Edgar kids into the family business. Edgar’s grandson Dorien stepped in to help him deal with the effects of Hurricane Ida, a natural disaster that promises to destroy their livelihoods.
His ethnicity.
Regarding his ethnicity, we learned Daniel Edgar is a Caucasian. Digging deeper into his roots, we found that most of the people from the Bayou descended from French-Canadian nationals who moved to Louisiana several decades earlier.
His wife and kids.
Daniel has been married twice already. His first wife was a woman named Juanita Thomas Broussard.
Throughout the course of their marriage, Juanita gave birth to two sons, Dwaine and Joey Edgar. Unfortunately for the couple, a tough work schedule put great strain on their relationship.
In Daniel’s own words, he spent all his time at work and was rarely seen at home with his wife and kids. Consequently, the two of them decided to end the marriage as it was the best option for their kids.
Several years down the line, Juanita got married again, this time to Russell Broussard. Sadly, Daniel’s first wife, Juanita died when she was 68 years old back in March 2018.
On his part, Edgar decided to remarry again, this time to a woman named Mandy. The two had one kid together, a daughter named Danielle.
Like Daniel’s marriage to his first wife, his work and hunting schedule also became an issue for his second wife.
