Brian and Mika Kleinschmidt Break Silence on New Show and 100 Day Dream Home Future

Brian and Mika Kleinschmidt are staying busy, and it sounds like Mika has another HGTV project lined up. The couple recently opened up about what they’ve been working on, teased Mika’s upcoming series, and also addressed whether viewers should expect a new season of 100 Day Dream Home.

During an April 2026 interview with TV Insider, the HGTV stars talked about designing the HGTV Smart Home 2026. While discussing what’s next, Mika hinted that she already has another show in the works.

“We have a lot going on with real estate here in Tampa, so we actually do more houses off the show than we do on the show,” she said about what was next.

She then revealed that she was heading out right away for a mystery project.

“And then, I’m actually leaving today for a top secret mission,” Mika added.

Although she could not officially confirm the details, she did share one clue about the new series.

The HGTV star continued, “They won’t let me announce the show yet, but there’s this show that’s launching in the summer, and the only hint that I’ll give is that it’s located on a beach in South Carolina. So, that’s where I’m actually getting ready to drive up [to].”

Brian quickly joked that Mika may have already revealed more than she should have.

Brian jokingly added, “She said too much!”

Mika laughed and admitted that he might be right.

Mika admitted, “I probably did just say too much. I’m gonna get fired. It’s fine. But, yeah. We’re working on a lot of stuff, and we just enjoy working with clients and building houses, so hopefully they’ll keep having us.”

As for 100 Day Dream Home, Brian explained that the couple is taking a brief pause after finishing their latest season.

“We’ve got to catch our breath,” Brian said. “We just wrapped filming season six, and I think the final episode aired just a couple weeks ago, on St. Patrick’s Day. So yeah, we’re gonna catch our breath a little bit.”

He shared that life away from the cameras is just as full, with both work and family keeping them occupied.

He explained, “We have a lot of projects off TV, and Mika’s working on a different show. I’m teaching [our daughter] Jade how to drive. She’s about to get her license.”

Still, Brian made it clear they are not stepping away for long.

“So, we’ve got a lot of stuff going on when the cameras aren’t rolling, but we look forward to the cameras rolling again very soon,” Brian added.

The pair also reflected on what made creating HGTV Smart Home 2026 different from their usual projects. On April 7, HGTV gave fans a first look at the home with a video tour posted to Instagram.

“TODAY’S THE DAY 🏡 HGTV Smart Home 2026 is finally here! Take the full tour of this resort-inspired retreat in Orlando, FL designed by our very own @mikamakesmoves and @mrbreakinground.”

Mika said the biggest adjustment came from designing a dream property without knowing who would eventually live there.

“I think the biggest difference was that when we are working on ‘100 Day Dream Home,’ we’re working with clients, whereas [the] Smart Home, we’re trying to design and make decisions, because we don’t know who’s going to win the house.”

She explained that the process came with more pressure because every design choice had to appeal to an unknown future owner.

She added, “You want to make sure that you’re thinking of everything, all the amenities, all the nice features, and we made the decisions. On our show, our clients are side by side with us, so they make the ultimate decisions, and it’s less pressure.”

Brian said the schedule itself was also demanding, since they were juggling multiple projects at the same time.

Brian shared that logistics proved challenging as well. “We were still filming the last couple episodes of ‘100 Day Dream Home’ simultaneously. So, we were kind of bouncing back and forth between Tampa and Orlando,” he explained. “But yeah, it was a lot of work, but a lot of fun, too.”
