Ben Napier recently reflected on the heartbreaking impact of Hurricane Helene on a region that holds deep personal significance for him.
The Home Town star, 41, shared his connection to the areas in North Carolina and Tennessee most affected by the storm. Though he resides in Mississippi with his wife, Erin Napier, and their two daughters, Ben fondly remembers his childhood vacations to the Great Smoky Mountains, a place that also played a pivotal role in his and Erin’s love story.
In a heartfelt Instagram post on Sunday, September 29, Ben wrote,
“Growing up, the Smokies of western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee were paradise for my brothers and me. The first vacation I can remember was in this part of our great country. Every summer, I attended church camp at @lakejunaluska, and later continued as a youth minister,”
expressing the deep connection he feels to the region now facing devastation.
The gallery opens with a nostalgic snapshot of Ben and Erin during their college years, both beaming with joy.
Following that is a collection of older family photos, with Ben tagging his relatives in each. Other scenes feature serene images of the landscape, capturing tranquil views of the water and the expansive Smoky Mountains.
Ben reflects,
“This place is a part of mine and @erinapier’s love story,”
