In the days leading up to this heartwarming post, Erin and Ben were featured in another poignant moment during an episode of their show “Home Town,” where they revisited the college where their love story began back in 2004.
“This is where it all began,” Erin reminisced about their alma mater, formerly known as Jones County Junior College, nestled near their hometown of Laurel, Mississippi. “Our first date unfolded in the student union. It’s a place steeped in family history, as both sides of our families have ties to this institution.”
“In the episode,” Ben shared, “we’ve been reconnecting with our college buddies. They’re eager to join us in this venture.” Erin chimed in, “It’s like time-traveling. We get to revisit our younger selves, back when we were 19 and 21-year-old Erin and Ben.”
Reflecting on their early days, Erin and Ben, who tied the knot in 2008, had previously shared their first encounter with PEOPLE magazine.
“I still vividly recall spotting Erin during our first week on campus,” Ben reminisced. “She was strolling through the student union with this pixie haircut. Back then, I didn’t even know what a pixie cut was, but I knew right away that I liked it.”
