Residing in Detroit, Michigan, Keith Bynum and Evan Thomas have established themselves as proprietors of Nine Design + Homes. Their enterprise focuses on procuring derelict residences in disregarded neighborhoods, rehabilitating them, and then marketing them as fully furnished starter homes tailored to lower-income buyers.
Their journey commenced in 2013, when they crossed paths in Colorado, as recounted in a conversation with Pride Source last April. Their initial connection was forged via Match.com, leading to years of courtship while residing in Colorado. The pivotal move to Detroit transpired in April 2017. Even earlier, their adeptness in the domain of home transformations piqued the interest of television producers. While still situated in Colorado, they were entrusted with constructing a diminutive dwelling for an episode of HGTV’s “Tiny Paradise.” Their distinctive collaboration shone through, with Keith Bynum, an artistic visionary, complementing Evan Thomas, a construction expert who holds a PhD in physics from the University of Colorado. Their innovative output stood out on the show.
In 2018, a production company guided them in crafting a sizzle reel for HGTV, an endeavor that eventually bore fruit. Their proficiency in rejuvenating Detroit neighborhoods secured them a series slot in 2019. The fruit of their labor, “Bargain Block,” debuted its inaugural season in 2021. Currently, they are vying in “Rock the Block,” part of a quartet of teams featuring prominent HGTV personalities engaged in a home overhaul spectacle in Charleston, South Carolina. The ultimate prize entails recognition and a chance to have a street named after them in the charming locale.
Sharing the limelight this season are competing pairs: twin sisters Leslie Davis and Lyndsay Lamb of “Unsellable Houses,” spousal team Dave and Jenny Marrs of “Fixer to Fabulous,” and real estate agent Egypt Sherrod and her builder husband Mike Jackson of “Married to Real Estate.”
Remarkably, rather than straining their relationship, collaborating professionally has enhanced the bond between Bynum and Thomas, as they attested.
Dave and Jenny Marrs
Our admiration for Dave and Jenny Marrs from HGTV’s “Fixer to Fabulous” has only grown stronger, and now their charm continues to captivate us in “Home Town Takeover.”
This cherished duo, bound by matrimony, has carved a notable niche for themselves by revitalizing over 300 homes in the expanse of Northwest Arkansas. An impressive addition to their portfolio is the remarkable transformation of a historic 1870s dwelling into a sought-after sanctuary, available for booking on Airbnb.
Since 2004, the couple’s construction venture, Marrs Developing, has been at the forefront of home renovation. Dave’s wealth of expertise in the construction realm, spanning from being a contractor to an adept builder and skilled artisan, harmoniously complements Jenny’s keen design acumen. This dynamic partnership has not only contributed to the betterment of their community but has also propelled their television careers forward.
Beyond their roles as the charismatic power couple of “Fixer to Fabulous,” Dave and Jenny’s personas are multifaceted. In the interludes between their show commitments and nurturing their berry farm, they find solace in family moments with their five young children at their Bentonville, Arkansas farmhouse.
For those yet to be acquainted with the Marrs’ magic, delving into their journey encompassing relationships, family, professional accomplishments, and philanthropic ventures is bound to create new devotees. Their story traces back to Dave’s post-college days in 2002, when he accepted a position at Newell Brands’ Rubbermaid, as he recounted to About You. Fate introduced him to Jenny, stationed in a separate department within the same company. As destiny would have it, their bond deepened despite the constraints of Dave’s frequent relocations dictated by his job. Overcoming the hurdles of a long-distance relationship, they eventually took a pivotal leap together.
In 2004, Dave chose to depart from his corporate role and embark on a journey to Arkansas to pursue his passion for construction—a pursuit that had been nurtured since his youth, building log cabins alongside his father in Colorado. Reflecting on this transition, Dave shared, “So, I did the corporate world for two years, which was enough. It allowed me to meet Jenny… but I just got sick of it.” He continued, “When I said I [was] going to start building again, Jenny took a big leap of faith and said we’ll try Arkansas for a couple of years.”
Are Keith Bynum and Evan Thomas and Dave and Jenny Marrs Doing a collaboration?
Although we have seen them together on the show Rock The Block for few seasons, we haven’t yet had the opportunity to see these four wonderful people do their magic. But recently, something came up and it’s creating a huge buzz on the internet. On August 21, 2023, Jenny Marrs posted a picture of them four having lunch together, where she wrote, “with two of our favorite”.
Those people who saw the photo were glad to see their four best tv stars on the same table, while many speculated and started asking if they are together for filming the show.
If that was true, that would mean, they would be seen on screen together. To clear the water, we contacted one of the representatives ive of HGTV and asked if they were bringing the show where we could get to see fixer to fabulous and Bargain Block stars together, to which the representative denied to give any official statement.
Also, since there’s no official statement from neither of the four, we are yet to see if there’s going to be any such show. This could just be friends having some good time together. If we get any update, we will be the first one to update it to you.
