The Kilcher family has been living in Alaska for more than 80 years. Ruth and Yule Kilcher migrated from Europe during World War II and settled 11 miles from Homer, Alaska.
The four generations of the Kilcher family lived together on the property and tried to survive in the harsh nature of Alaska. Ruth and Yule Kilcher had eight children.
