Keith Bynum, who has been captivating audiences since 2021 with his stunning home transformations alongside his partner Evan Thomas on Bargain Block, recently sat down with TV Insider to share insights into what fans can look forward to next. Following the launch of their New Orleans spinoff in 2024, it’s clear the pair has no plans of slowing down.

“We just wrapped up — well, we’re still finishing one of the houses — but new episodes are coming this fall from Detroit,” Bynum explained, while discussing his latest collaboration with American Standard in celebration of their 150th anniversary. “We got through all the New Orleans houses and listed them. The last one was actually supposed to go live today, but the power meter didn’t get installed, so now we’re delayed by a few days.”

Although a small setback pushed the final listing, Keith shared that things have been busy as ever back in Detroit. “We just finished another five houses — well, we’re actively finishing the fifth,” he continued. “So, we’re back in Detroit, trying to stay grounded and keep everything moving. It’s a bit of a balancing act, but honestly, it’s a blast.”

When asked about expanding their work to other cities after their New Orleans season, Keith offered a glimpse into what might be coming. “We are actively working in a lot of cities,” he hinted. “I will say, we’re spending a lot of time in Nashville. We’re also in Chicago quite a bit lately. There might be a reason for that.”

Fans eager for more could stay tuned as Keith teased more exciting developments, including whether he’d return to the competition show scene, his partnership with American Standard for their $150,000 down payment giveaway, and other personal updates.

When it comes to how his design style has grown over the years, Keith reflected thoughtfully. “That’s a fun question. Being on TV gives you a chance to watch yourself work — maybe a little more than you’d like — so it’s easy to become overly critical. Evan and I have learned to accept that growth takes time. It’s been really rewarding to see how much our work has evolved,” he shared.

He added that this growth has also made collaborations like the one with American Standard feel fitting. “That’s also why partnerships like the one with American Standard make sense. They recognize how hard we work and how much thought we put into creating something meaningful for homeowners. At the end of the day, that’s what it’s all about.”

Regarding the process behind filming each season of Bargain Block, Keith gave a peek into the demanding timeline. “Last year, it took about 42 weeks. You blink and suddenly realize the entire year has flown by. It’s definitely a demanding schedule, but overall, we really enjoy the process.”

Keith, who once competed on Rock the Block, was asked if he’d be willing to take on another competition show. His honest response was filled with self-awareness: “I’ll be honest, I think my ego has had its fill of competitions for a while. It’s definitely not for the faint of heart. You don’t really grasp how intense it is until you’re in the middle of it. For now, I’m taking a step back from that kind of energy. Never say never, but it’s a lot. I’m extremely competitive — probably too much — and Evan is just as bad. It’s kind of our thing. But we did learn a ton from the experience, no doubt about that.”

Outside of filming, Keith described how he and Evan like to unwind. “For us, the most refreshing thing is reconnecting with nature — just getting back to plants, dirt, and trees. Even if it’s just a short hike, we try to find time wherever we are to step outside and reset. We really miss Colorado for that reason; it was so easy to escape into the mountains.”

Keith continued, “Michigan’s great too — you can get to the water in just a few minutes. Those little moments in nature help us stay grounded amidst the chaos. And our place on Beaver Island has been a huge source of peace. It’s incredibly calming and has made a big difference for us.”

As for his collaboration with American Standard, Keith shared why this partnership holds special meaning. “We’ve been working with American Standard for a really long time, so teaming up with them for their 150th anniversary feels pretty special. It’s one of those partnerships that just makes sense — our values and approach really line up.”

He praised the company’s versatility and quality: “We use a lot of their products because they’re not only creative, but also practical and built to last. Whether we need something affordable or high-end, they’ve got it covered. That range and quality make them a perfect fit for what we do. We’re just genuinely excited to be part of celebrating such a big milestone with a brand we truly believe in.”

Keith also spoke about why he was drawn to their $150,000 down payment giveaway. “This kind of initiative fits perfectly with what we believe in — that good design should be accessible to everyone. First-time homebuyers hold a special place in my heart, so being part of something that helps them take that big step means a lot. And $150,000 is a huge amount — it can truly change someone’s life.”

Feeling grateful to be part of this effort, Keith added, “I feel lucky just to be involved, even though I didn’t put up the money myself. It’s just incredible to help make homeownership a reality for someone.”
